'... ... ... Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God;
because we have testified of God
that He raised up Christ:
Whom he raised not up,
if so be that the dead rise not.'

(1Cor. 15:15)

In the verse above, Paul gives a clear picture of what false doctrine is, in this case, as the context shows, it is in regard to the resurrection of Christ, whom some denied. That denial in itself is one form of false doctrine. Anything that denies the truth of the gospel of Christ is false doctrine.

'Hold fast the form of sound words,
which thou hast heard of me,
in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.'

(2Tim. 1:13)

Those 'sound words' are written on the pages of Scripture for us to read and digest for ourselves. If our minds are stayed on what is written, then no false doctrine can find a place, for it will be identified immediately as false. That is why we are told to, 'let the word of Christ dwell in you richly' (Col. 3:16) , not only to edify one another, but to protect us from what is false.

'Thou therefore, my son,
be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
And the things that thou hast heard of me
among many witnesses,
the same commit thou to faithful men,
who shall be able to teach others also.'

(2Tim. 2:1-2)
