1)Believe God's Word says that we must believe on Him. We must then know who he is before we can believe on him/ appreciate him for all that he has done for us! John 1:1-14 clearly states who God is. It clearly states that Jesus was God (himself) wrapped up in the form of human flesh! So, in essence, He who knew no sin became sin for us! Jesus also was an example to his future followers who demonstrated True Holy Living. Believing on Jesus is ONLY Part of the Process. There is more!!! "Confessing with you lips..." "accept the Lord Jesus in your Heart.." are not IT! No where in the Bible does it say Believe Only, after Christ's death, except in Romans (A Letter Addressed to the CHURCH at Rome who were already saved/been through the Salvation process---a FACT which many "ministers" oftentimes fail to mention) and other letters such as that written to other churches (Ephesus...Corinth..etc). Repent and Be Baptized in Jesus Name Acts 2:38 directly names these (Repentance an Baptism in Jesus Name) as part of the Salvation Process. Repentance is the "turning away from/being godly sorry for living a life of sin" (which we are all born into since the Fall of Adam and Eve). Baptism in Jesus Name (by total body immersion as it is done biblically not sprinkling) is a requirement and symbolizes the "washing away/removal of sins" and/or being "buried" with Christ! Jesus (who was God Almighty who didn't even have to get Baptized) did so. So, are we any better than He? (I think not). Jesus even said that a man has to be Born of the Water and of the Spirit before he can enter, let alone see, the kingdom of God (John 3:5). Mark 16:16 says, "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned." Baptism is not mentioned in the latter part of the verse simply because "if YOU DON'T BELIEVE then YOU WON'T GET BAPTIZED" and its that simple. Also, the literal use of "in the Name of the Father...Son....Holy Ghost/Spirit" is not acceptable because it is ONLY a Title that explains the Deity of God. No where in the Bible can one find where people baptized in this manner after Christ death. They are done in the Name of Jesus...Lord Jesus..Jesus Christ! Holy Ghost (God's Free Gift) Acts 2:38 also promises us the Holy Ghost which is kind of like God's own "Stamp of Approval." Jesus (God in the Flesh) even promised to send us a Comforter (Holy Ghost) continue to lead us..guide us...teach us All Truth, hence the "Day of Pentecost" that is described in Acts. We cannot even begin to try to live Holy without this Power from On High! Holy Living We have to practice what God's Word Preaches! We have to Live the Word, which is hard for many to do because they are trying to do it without the Holy Ghost. God's Word specifcally states that without Holiness no man can/will see God! This lifestyle includes that of reading/studying God's Word, Prayer and YES FASTING (as in NO FOOD OR DRINK). God's Word clearly declares that somethings/evil spirits/etc REQUIRE fasting and prayer to be cast out/down! There's no other way to Be Saved other than God's Way! >
