1Ti 2:8 I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.
1Ti 2:9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;
1Ti 2:10 But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.
what is shamefacesness?
NLT: And I want women to be modest in their appearance. They should wear decent and appropriate clothing and not draw attention to themselves by the way they fix their hair or by wearing gold or pearls or expensive clothes.
For women who claim to be devoted to God should make themselves attractive by the good things they do.
I agree with this.
I'm not saying women shouldn't take care of their appearance, but don't look like a ... prostitute.. or someone looking for a good time.
But the caring, and the charity and the lovingkindness.. they should let this light shine through.
There still a lot of these lights in the world, it's just the overbearing of ugly darkness tries to keep their light less bright.
Shine on!
