What's this thing called "work"?

Not having to go to work is bliss. More time to read and enjoy online friendships. Not much retail therapy these days though although it was usually charity shops.

It is in the 90s during the day, but it's also monsoon season so we get almost daily rain and a cooling off time. We need the water in New Mexico!

Usual of late, no rain, 100+ daily, highest noticed 110, continues on into the sun set. Early AM, before light, 80-90. Thankful for plenty of shade and fairly constant breeze.
Glad to not be in the cities with tons of brick, mortar and concrete compounding the heat effects.

Another cold morning. Icy bird bath, frosty windscreens and was -1c at 9am, not sure how you people up north in UK, USA and Canada deal with ice on windscreens and frozen car locks, here I had to throw a bit of cold water a few times over the ice and use windscreen wipers, same with the lock again to get a key in, and it was still tough to get key in even after a few attempts, back window was a bit too frozen so just had to put up with it for a while, with the demister blowing warm air on the windows. (I have heard you should never pour hot water on icy windows.)

Heat indexes over 100 degrees here for days. Yesterday, I was sitting on back deck reading on an iPad and it flashed a warning that it needed to shut down because it’s temp was too high!

Blessedly cool here in the NW of England. And I got to wear my new jumper. On Tuesday I spent the day in my cool PJs.

Well....it has been rather hot in our area; yet.......I was travelling recently and one day the temp. dropped so much that my breath started to become condensation on the car windshield. When I told ppl later, they seemed so suprised......

We got mid 80's today. We're having a heat advisory. I think I got a little heat exhaustion today as my heart rate got up to 100 and I got really weak on my walks. I got some cold energy drinks though to cool down.Laughing
