I would wonder why they didn't object to the music being played. How many of them actually enjoyed it? They probably wouldn't have told you. Things like that are kept secret.

If we didn’t know why they were listening to it there would have been an enormous amount of wondering going on.

I don’t know. Recalling the makeup of the group, I doubt that many, if any, enjoyed it. I didn’t.

Yeah, but the lyrics are a window of the darker parts of the human psyche. They exist within us all, despite being a Christian or anything else. The Christian movies and music don't land because they purposefully ignore this aspect of who we are.

Some parents, perhaps even a few of the parents in the small group that day, may be indifferent to it. As you said, if any of them enjoyed it they probably weren’t going to make it known publicly at church. The same could be said about any who are indifferent.

Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. Parents who enjoy listening to satanic music or are indifferent about it will eventually say something that reveals their heart on the matter.

It’s not a “typical“ Christian movie but the script was written by a man (Steve Deace) who self-identifies as Christian. It wasn’t marketed as a Christian movie. It was intentionally marketed as a Horror movie, in order to reach a wider audience with a Christian message.

I watched it. I don’t generally recommend Christian movies and television programs (because too many liberties are typically taken with them) and I don’t want to imprint Hollywood’s version in my head. I would, however, be able to recommend this particular movie.

It’s getting late and well past my bedtime. I’ll end my posting for the evening with this thought for your consideration: Not all secular music is satanic and not all Christian music contains biblical theology.
