And that is wrong. 100% wrong. The "inspired Scriptures" are a Holy Spirit testimony no more inspired than mine for we both serve the same living God. Don't make an IDOL of Scripture. Don't speak with a forked tongue, saying we should believe God's work in this way but not that way. Miracles still happen all the time. What I am saying is that being led by the Holy Spirit is not the same thing as writing inspired Scripture.
Scripture writers include murderers and adulterers like Moses and David. I'm not claiming to be perfect but I'm also not as bad as Scripture writers.
My role is not universal like theirs. My role was to be a prophet for one man's obedience in doing God's work, missionary work in Haiti. I don't know why I was chosen as I was an enemy of God at the time. It was only 15 years later did I learn what I experienced is called Prevenient grace.
Having said all that, I believe what you are trying to say comes down to authority and believability. By all means, test Spirits, test people who claim to have received a revelation from God. In my case, I was validated when my doctor told me months later that he received another unsolicited message to delay his trip. Two witnesses. We serve an amazing God!
