“He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.” 1 Peter 2:24

How were your sins represented in his body?

In his body…his blood spilled out for my offering of forgiveness.

In his body…death for his offering of killing my sin.

Offering to men, “IF” they “TAKE” His offering…Forgiveness, sin covered, sin forgotten, bodily death unto the Lord God, perfected IN Him, body cleansing, Sanctification, restored soul, quickened spirit, raised glorified body..

Yes, I have taken His Offering.

Glory to God,
Taken

This is terribly wrong-I fear you promulgate another gospel.

Death did not have dominion over Christ. Scripture consistently teaches that while Christ died, He rose from the dead, demonstrating His victory over death.

1. Romans 6:9 (NKJV):
"Knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him."

This verse explicitly states that death no longer has dominion over Christ. His resurrection signifies that death's power was broken.

2. Revelation 1:18 (NKJV):
“I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.”

Jesus declares that He holds the authority over death and Hades, indicating that He conquered them through His resurrection.

3. 1 Corinthians 15:55-57 (NKJV):
“O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory? The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

This passage celebrates the victory over death that Jesus secured, emphasizing that death could not hold Him.

4. Acts 2:24 (NKJV):
“Whom God raised up, having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that He should be held by it.”

Peter, speaking about Jesus’ resurrection, clearly states that death could not hold Him. Christ's power was greater than death.

In conclusion, death had no lasting dominion over Christ. Though He died, He overcame death through His resurrection, securing eternal life for all who believe in Him.

Error here.
I don't have the time to go through your other erroneous assertions, see you tomorrow.

Messiah is NOT a created being, nor a mere thought/concept in the mind of YHVH.

Bodily death…overcoming sin of the world…by bodily death.
No Taken - no such thing as bodily death its simply death! All of Christ tasted death!

But we see him who for a little while was made lower than the angels, namely Jesus, crowned with glory and honor because of the suffering of death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone

@Johann is yet to understand that Christ was held by death for 3 days! Death had dominion over him all his life just like you and I will, and for good reason!

Read Hebrews 2:14-17

Answer is there!

Also, why was it by the Grace of God that Jesus should taste death? Johann has already posted the Verses which contain the answer - boy this is like pulling teeth!

How long did Death hold Christ?
You seem to have a battle with the "little foxes"-show me Scripture references that death had dominion over Christ Jesus, I'm tired and my brain fried.

Before Jesus’ resurrection, death did not have dominion over Him, even though He experienced death. Jesus willingly submitted to death as part of His redemptive mission, but it did not have power over Him in the same way it does over sinful humanity. Several Scriptures emphasize that Christ’s death was a voluntary act of obedience, not something imposed on Him by death’s dominion.

1. John 10:17-18 (NKJV):
“Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father.”

Jesus makes it clear that He voluntarily gave His life and had the power to take it up again. Death did not have authority over Him; rather, He exercised authority over death by choosing to die and rise.

2. Hebrews 2:9 (NKJV):
“But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that He, by the grace of God, might taste death for everyone.”

Jesus tasted death on behalf of humanity, but this was part of His mission to defeat it. His death was not a result of death's dominion but part of His purposeful submission to fulfill God's redemptive plan.

3. Philippians 2:8-9 (NKJV):
“And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name.”

Jesus’ death was an act of obedience, not the result of death’s control over Him. His submission to death led to His exaltation, demonstrating His authority over it.

4. Acts 2:24 (NKJV):
“Whom God raised up, having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that He should be held by it.”

Even in death, it was not possible for death to hold Jesus. This shows that He was never under death’s dominion in a way that implied powerlessness. His resurrection was inevitable because death had no ultimate claim over Him.
Even though Jesus died, death never had dominion over Him. He willingly gave His life and had the power to take it back. His death and resurrection were part of God's plan, and through this, He demonstrated His authority over death, breaking its power for all who believe in Him.

J.
Your ignorance on this subject is astounding J.

Hebrews 2:9

2:9 but we see Jesus, who was made lower than the angels for a little while, now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by God’s grace he would experience (tasted) death on behalf of everyone
Heb 2:9.

Why was it essential death have dominion over him?
Why was it essential death hold him in the grave 3 days?
Why death Johann?

How was sin represented in the Lord's body?
How were your sins represented in his body?

how long will you believe in your lies Johann?

Christ died, the grave held him there - why?

@Johann have you noticed you have contradicted every quote I have put up in this discussion? Every single quote you have said the opposite to the Word of God - every verse J.

As a result your faith is futile and you are still in your sins because you do not know the Christ or the work God did in him.

The lies you hold so tightly to have you speaking against the very Word you aim to follow.

The irony

@Johann you say Christ did NOT taste death...the Word states he was under death's dominion all his days and the grave held him for 3 days.

Just because you don't undestand why this was required doesn't mean it wasn't so.

I've given you more than enough information for you to connect the dots.

@Johann

Here is a simple question for you to ponder.

Was Christ subject to the "law of sin and death?"

Yes or no?

Don't misrepresent me F2F-

There are no Scriptures that directly or indirectly suggest that death had dominion over Jesus in the sense of having power or control over Him. On the contrary, the Bible emphasizes that Jesus voluntarily laid down His life and had full authority over death.

The Bible does not say that death had dominion over Christ, in fact, the scripture explicitly states the opposite, particularly in Romans 6:9 which says, "knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him" - meaning that once Christ was resurrected, death no longer had power over him; his death was a one-time event that was overcome by his resurrection.

Knowing -- Paul assumes this as an undoubted article of belief among all Christians.
You don't F2F.

Christ, having been raised from the dead -- This is the basic belief among Christians, the fact that literally Jesus Christ was victorious over the hadean world, conquered death, and was resurrected to life again. Act_2:24; Act_2:31-32. This was the heart of all apostolic preaching the the book of Acts, and the basic belief in all the epistles and the book of Revelation.

dies no more -- After Christ's resurrection, he didn't die again, but ascended back to the Father in heaven, Mar_16:19.

Death no longer has dominion over Him -- Death, or Hades, had no power, no lordship, over Christ. Christ's resurrection demonstrated he was the one in control over death's realm, which Satan perhaps thought was his. 1Co_15:26;

When God raised Jesus from the dead, He transformed His earthly body into a glorified human body that is no longer susceptible to death and decay. In this state, Christ represents the immortal life that awaits those who have faith in Him. - FSB

SHOW me Scripture that death had dominion over Christ, you can't.

Prove me wrong.

Wow Johann is this where you have come to?

6:9 We know that since Christ has been raised from the dead, he is never going to die again; death no longer has mastery (dominion) over him. Ro 6:9.

What tense is this J? Past?

I never thought you would deny the Word in such a blatant way as you are doing right now. This is worthy of losing ones respect.

Even the Lord himself taught this from his own mouth

“Sign of Prophet Jonah”

Math 12:40 - Death and resurrection “three days in whale’s belly” Luke 11:30

2:9 but we see Jesus, who was made lower than the angels for a little while, now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by God’s grace he would experience death on behalf of everyone Heb 2:9.

Death had dominion over him and if you don't understand that how do you know this?

always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies. 2 Corinth 4:10

I can see why you resist - you do so to your own hurt.

You are proving the danger of dogma's - false Christianity is at work in your mind and you won't allow yourself to see the true Gospel.

So many verses speak to the death of Jesus and you would deny all of them?

Wow directly or indirectly you say!

Out of interest J. follow this truth through...what would it do to your belief if you were revealed this was true?

If Death had dominion over him which the Scripture clearly states what does this do you to understanding of who Christ was and what God achieved in him?

Speak freely J.

Where you err-Death had no power or lordship over Christ Jesus-ever.

I'll keep posting verses to show you are more perfect way.

For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly (not as a substitute for, but “on account of” the ungodly). Rom. 5:6.

3:18 Because Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, to bring you to God, by being put to death in the flesh but by being made alive in the spirit 1 Pe 3:18.

@Johann how did Christ suffer once for sins?

10:12 But when this priest had offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, he sat down at the right hand of God Heb 10:12.

Can you join the dots Johann?

Why was it essential DEATH have dominion over him?

Where you err-Death had no power or lordship over Christ Jesus-ever.

Then how did God remove that Power over Christ?

Read Hebrews 2:14-17 (read it carefully J.)

Amen and glory to Jesus.

Does it mean death reigned and rule as an umpire over Christ Jesus?

Why carry around the death of Christ in us? What did God do in that death which would warrant us carrying it arouind in us?

You continue to resist J.

The one resisting is you F2F.

No, no, no - you have already proven you deny the Word of God and speak contrary to its teaching. The evidence is in this thread.

You have already denied the evidence multiple times and you are yet to answer the questions given.

How did God remove deaths dominion from His Son which means it can be removed from you?

8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. 8:2 For the law of the life-giving Spirit in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death. 8:3 For God achieved what the law could not do because it was weakened through the flesh. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and concerning sin, he condemned sin in the flesh Ro 8:1–3.

How did God condemn the represenation of sin in the body of Jesus?

Go to Romans 6:23 and provide your answer!
