One cannot obtain salvation except thru Jesus which is why when Jesus was in hell He was preaching to the old testament saints in Abraham's bosom, a temporary place the Lord made for them to wait after death until Jesus came along making the new birth available and they all believed on Jesus and got born again.

God has two different chosen people.

The Church and the Jews (who believe outside the Church age).

The Church will have its home in Heaven.

The Jews, theirs will be on the New Earth.

Both Chosen.

You are confused is the problem.

Just because God knows the end from the beginning having knowledge ahead of time concerning who all will be accepting His plan of salvation does not mean God only selected a few to be saved and decided to disallow all others from being able to be saved which is what calvinism claims.
