Hey Bob,

You do know that in the passage from John 16 that you referred to Jesus was speaking to his Apostles, and the Apostles only,

Standard cultist response. "that was for THEM" AND NOT FOR YOU" WE ARE THE ONLY ONES WITH THE TRUTH (even if it doesn't agree with what the Bible says).

Is the Holy Spirit confused or are you confused?

Chuckle!!! Neither of us are confused, but the "Holy Roman Catholic" System appears to be, since it teaches all sorts of PAGAN doctrine, and is torn, and contradictory internally. You're being led by a "Ringer" who doesn't even appear to be a "Roman Catholic".

What we HEARD FROM THE BEGINNING is found in the BIBLE, not in the PHONY TRADITIONS of Catholicism, or any other denominational system.
The Bible is the ONLY Trustworthy record, and the HOLY SPIRIT is the only TRUSTWORTHY INTERPRETER. Certainly not the Roman Catholic system which has changed significantly even in my lifetime, and is apparently being led presently by a non-Catholic.

And how does that effect us?

fundamentalism is darkness

like Saul you think you’re acting in righteousness and doing the will of God while attacking Christ’s church and teaching, really attacking Christ!

fundamentalism is darkness
Christ is the light

ABSOLUTELY!!! The Bible alone, plus "man's intelligence" (or lack thereof) produces nothing but confusion. The Bible, PLUS the inspiration of the Holy Spirit who leads into truth results in Spiritual Growth. John 16:13 1 John 2:27

the spirit will not leads the apostles into the truth! Then they are to teach us! Matt 28:19 lk 1;4
Acts 8:31

Dear Bob,

If you can explain to me and provide Scripture to back up your explanation how EVERY CHRISTIAN since the NT times that FEELS like they are being guided by the Holy Spirit into the Truth, even though all those "truths" are different, then I will join your cult.

Until then I have given you very clear evidence from Scripture that the theory your Protestant men (who started this cultic confusion amongst Christians) have taught you is bankrupt. Jesus was talking to the Apostles and the Apostles only.....NOT every Christian for eternity....in that passage. If the theory you were taught is valid then there is no Truth to Scripture since everyone has their own truth. Can you not see how bizarre the theory you have accepted from your men is?

Hmmmm.....so the Catholic Church is confused or wrong in it's interpretation of Scripture but your Protestant men, who sometimes agree with The Church, are not wrong even though they all disagree with each other on what the "Truth" is??? Can you not see how confused you are?

Anyone who feels the need to dress up in a monkey suit as a 'marker' of representing God is delusional and disconnected from the common man in not only outward show but in the opinion they hold of themselves.

An Internet troll is someone who posts controversial, inflammatory, irrelevant or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum or chat room, with the primary intent of provoking other users into an emotional response or to generally disrupt normal on-topic discussion.

You met all the criteria quitthinker.....CONGRATULATIONS!!

If your ears and eyes were open Mm, you would at least see the relevance. Can you imagine Jesus strutting around in a get up like that?

I'm not attacking the core issues of the RCC that are scriptural. But Jesus hates what you did to His mother. Therefore, so do I

Great post!

It is astonishing to me that the Catholic church has so distorted the truths of the Bible to come up with this kind of robotic repetition, among other non-Biblical nonsense. In fact, I would even categorize it as being as far from truths of the New Covenant as Judaism is.
Hey Jim,

Some of your Protestant men agree with the Catholic church on "the truths of the Bible" and of course they have some disagreement with The Church on "the truths of the Bible". But your Protestant men also disagree with each other on "the truths of the Bible". That means there all multiple "truths" from multiple people/denominations.

Sooooo why is it only the Catholic Church you are astonished by? Logically, wouldn't you be astonished by ALL denominations? And since you KNOW that the Catholic Church has distorted "the truths of the Bible" which other denominations have distorted it also?

Curious Mary

only the apostles or there would be no need for apostles
Matt 28:19 Jn 20:21 apostles are sent to teach all nations

BLASPHEMY!!!!

There is a big difference between the people, the laity, the nations and the priesthood, the apostles!

Matthew 22:14
For many are called, but few are chosen.

Matt 13:11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.

Jn 20:21 as the father sent me, I send you. And Jn 17:18 I send you!

(The apostles with the same mission, power, and authority)

The apostles received the kingdom.
Lk 22:29

The apostles administer the kingdom. Matt 16:18-19 & 18:18

The apostles govern the church.
Matt 28:19-20

the apostles have authority to forgive sins against God and His commandments, Jn 20:23

The apostles hold office.
Acts 1:15-20

Apostles are the light of the world!
The church is an extension of Christ in time and space. Matt 5:14

The apostles are Christ’s successors!
They have authority to send others as well, apostle means one who is sent!

Therefore the apostles have authority to send more apostles or successors!
Apostolic succession!

The nations still need to be taught, disciples still need to be baptized and the church the new covenant kingdom of christ still needs to be governed!

Three fold ministry,

Teaching:
Sanctification:
Governing:

Keys of authority! And power to bind and loose! Matt 16:18 and Matt 18:18 matt 28:19 Isa 22:21-22

Moral authority:
(Teaching)
Necessity of being taught by Christ:
Two edge sword: defining truth and condemning errors, and Interpreting scripture.

Jurisdictional authority:
(Governing / administering)
Necessity of Peter and the apostles and their successors to govern the holy church.

Spiritual authority:
(Life of Grace)
Sanctifying thru the mass and Sacraments
