[/font] You equate the Bible subject of the fallen angels taking wives of the flesh daughters of men to produce a 'giant' hybrid race as originating from pagan doctrine??? And that this is dogmatism??? 1 Cor 11:10 10 For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels. (KJV) Trying to associate the Truth of that event about fallen angels mating with flesh women as a pagan doctrine is really ignorant thinking!

- Gen 6:4 -

"There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men" The Hebrew nephilim, from naphal to fall, signifies "fallen ones". They were fallen from righteousness, but strong in stature and prowess. Like the sons of Lamech, of the time of Cain, they exercised great power in the fields of profit, pleasure, power and permissiveness. They reflected the fierce, military boastfulness of Lamech (Gen 4:23) who threatened others with death if they dared impede his course. "Also after that" The same spirit was manifested after the Flood. The same term, nephilim (giants), is used to describe the powerful warriors of Canaan whom the spies of Israel encountered as they surveyed the land to be conquered (Num. 13:33). Doubtless there were among them men of outstanding stature such as Goliath, but it was the attitude of ruthless indifference towards others that characterised them as giants in wickedness. In that connection, the nephilim are in evidence in modern political, commercial, and social life.

The sons of God were attracted (lust i.e. flesh nature not angelic!) to the apparent success of the nephilim in the various fields of endeavour, and observing that their daughters "were fair," like the pleasant Naamah (Gen. 4:22), they became attracted to them, and married them. The children of such a union, reflected the influences of both. The ruthless determination of the nephilim was now combined with the intellectual ability of the sons of God. There was an attempt to compromise the separateness of the Truth's demands to gain advantage of the great opportunities of material benefit that now opened up to the sons of God. They endeavoured to obtain the best of both worlds with apparent success.

"The same became mighty" Heb. hagibborim, the heroes, usually men of war. The progeny of the Sons of God were thus drawn into "the way of Cain" as Jude observed (Jude 11). They were probably more refined in manners and exalted in thought than their predecessors of mere Cainite descent. "Which were of old" They imitated the exploits of the giants of the past. "Men" The word is enosh and it relates to mortal man as physically weak or morally depraved. See its use in Psa.9:20. Though acclaimed as heroes, they were morally polluted. "Of renown" The Hebrew has hashem: the name. God knew their true state as weak and depraved, and before Him they had a name for wickedness. But to their contemporaries, they had a name of honour. They were honoured and respected by the Sethites, as by the Cainites, and their influence for evil was the greater because of that. The "princes" of Israel who supported Korah, Dathan, Abiram, and On were similarly described as "men of renown". They were honoured by the Israelites, but revealed their moral depravity before Yahweh (Num. 16:2).

I'm not the one that spiritually sick, it's those who don't recognize the Gen.6 Scripture about fallen angels mating with flesh women.

Num 13:33
33 And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.
(KJV)

Deut 2:10-11
10 The Emims dwelt therein in times past, a people great, and many, and tall, as the Anakims;
11 Which also were accounted giants, as the Anakims; but the Moabites call them Emims.
(KJV)

Deut 2:20-21
20 (That also was accounted a land of giants: giants dwelt therein in old time; and the Ammonites call them Zamzummims;
21 A people great, and many, and tall, as the Anakims; but the LORD destroyed them before them; and they succeeded them, and dwelt in their stead:
(KJV)

Deut 3:11
11 For only Og king of Bashan remained of the remnant of giants; behold, his bedstead was a bedstead of iron; is it not in Rabbath of the children of Ammon? nine cubits was the length thereof, and four cubits the breadth of it, after the cubit of a man.
(KJV)

2 Sam 21:16
16 And Ishbibenob, which was of the sons of the giant, the weight of whose spear weighed three hundred shekels of brass in weight, he being girded with a new sword, thought to have slain David.
(KJV)

2 Sam 21:19-20
19 And there was again a battle in Gob with the Philistines, where Elhanan the son of Ja'are-oregim, a Bethlehemite, slew the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear was like a weaver's beam.
20 And there was yet a battle in Gath, where was a man of great stature, that had on every hand six fingers, and on every foot six toes, four and twenty in number; and he also was born to the giant.
(KJV)

How is it, that God's Word testifies of the hybrid physical nature of those giants, with those who deny that treating them as merely 'wicked bullies', yet those bullies no longer existed after a point in Bible history? SURELY... if the 'giant' only means someone with a wicked character they would still... be mentioned in later... Bible history, yet God's Word is silent about them after they were all destroyed!!

Since you apparently listen to Pharisee teaching from the Babylon corruptions, I guess they wouldn't know about it either, so they failed to teach you about it too.

I take that as a no?

You cannot provide a clear, concise key bible verse that states angels mated with humans?

Just one!

EW Bullingers Appendix to the Companion Bible

"The Sons of GOD" in Genesis 6:2,4. Appendix 23 From The Companion Bible.
That there was a fall of the angels is certain from Jude 6. The nature of their fall is clearly stated in the same verse. They left their own [habitation] (oiketerion). This word occurs only in 2 Corinthians 5:2. Jude 6, where it is used of the spiritual (or resurrection) body. The nature of their sin is stated to be "in like manner" to that of the subsequent sins of Sodom and Gomorrha, Jude 7.

The time of their fall is given as having taken place "in the days of Noah" (1 Peter 3:20. 2Peter 2:7), though there may have been a prior fall which caused the end of "the world that then was" (Genesis 1:1,2. 2 Peter 3:6). For this sin they are "reserved unto judgement", 2 Peter 2:4, and are "in prison", 1 Peter 3:19. [Tartarus] Their progeny, called Nephilim (translated "giants"), were monsters of iniquity; and being superhuman in size and character, had to be destroyed (see Appendix 25).This was the one and only object of the Flood.

The Serpent of Genesis 3. Appendix 19 From The Companion Bible.
Indeed, a reference to the structure of Genesis 3 will show that the Cherubim (which are similar celestial or spirit-beings) of the last verse (Genesis 3:24) require a similar spirit-being to correspond with them in the first verse (for structure of the whole chapter is a great Introversion). The Nachash, or serpent, who beguiled Eve (2 Corinthians 11:3) is spoken of as "an angel of light" in verse 14. Have we not, in this, a clear intimation that it was not a snake, but a glorious shining being, apparently an angel, to whom Eve paid such great deference, acknowledging him as one who seemed to possess superior knowledge, and who was evidently a being of a serperior (not of an inferior) order?

Tell me If you believe God, produced a child with Mary why can't you believe this. The earliest of these fallen sons [offspring] of God could be somewhat angelic, couldn't they? Their were others with Satan that fell too, Right? Even the earliest mythologies support this concept. Many of the earliest idols from Sumeria possess rather demonic looking qualities, attributes and names.

EW Bullingers Appendix to the Companion Bible
That there was a fall of the angels is certain from Jude 6.

Let’s test Bullinger’s premise shall we?

And the angels who did not stay within their own position of authority, but left their proper dwelling, he has kept in eternal chains under gloomy darkness until the judgment of the great day - - Jude 1:6

Firstly, we must ask what is the context to Jude 6?

I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not. (Jude 1:5)

Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. Jude 1:7

So we talking about people coming out of Egypt who through unbelief were destroyed.

Its a warning about embracing error such as the one being purported here about angels. You cannot escape the judgments that God will bring upon those who turn from truth to error. Jude advances three examples demonstrating the inevitability of such punishment.

The first example is an example of how doomed you are in faithlessness, the second example shows the fate of pride, and the third example sets forth the destiny of self-indulgence and depravity. So Jude 5-7 sets out three examples in perfect order of the lust of the eyes, the pride of life, and the lust of the flesh, and demonstrate that those who indulge in them will perish 1 John 2:16.

1. Jude 5 speaks to the Lord saving those out of Egypt but afterwards destroyed those people in the desert through unbelief

2. Jude 6 ?????
thinking-020.gif

3. Jude 7 speaks to those people in Sodom and Gomorrah who perish by their wickedness.

How do Angelic beings who are not flesh and cannot be tempted to evil, who “always do God’s commands” fit between these two verses?

The answer is, it doesn’t!

What is the correct interpration of Jude 6?

What event in Scripture revealed men losing their first estate (authority)?

Yes, I agree with your interpretation of those scriptures. But you and I both know that when Jude refers to 10,000 angels coming he's refering to the Book of Enoch.

Anyways, I just dropped in to rattle your cage a bit. please continue. I'm in the background here somewhere ...

Just don't kill each other over it, ok. Love is the greatest of these and Time heals all wounds.

Thank you for your input Dj. Feel free to rattle the old cage anytime!

In regards to Jude 14,15 try reading 2 Thess 1:7,8,9,10,11,12 Where Christ will be glorified in his saints! Paul stresses the same principle as Jude does here, but in more detail. He declares that Christ is coming with vengeance against those who obey him not, but also to be "glorified in his saints."

While Jesus has full charge over the Angelic Host, it is in the plan and purpose of God to manifest Himself through His captain (Rev 17:14) and through His saints.

Your reference to the number ten thousand, which I believe is used figuratively in Scripture for a large undisclosed
number like "Saul hath slain his thousands and David his ten thousands."

You might like to visit come of these passages to see how it is used in Scripture more broadly. 1 Sam. 29:5; Ps. 3:6; Song 5:10; 1 Cor. 4:15; 14:19.

Not dogmatic! This number in Jude is speaking to a larger undisclosed number of saints who will associate with Christ in executing the judgment written, for "this honour have all his saints" Ps 149:7,8,9.

The language in verse 8 is familiar

A glorious time to consider.

I just did not drop by lately because my power was out for 2 days. It was strangely quiet not like the clamor here. :D But I learned something. I'm not going to ever try to speak over static and the noise again. I'm happy to be a Gnomonist while the power's out. As a matter of fact, to pass that time, I practiced my skills in gnomonics and is quieting to the soul.

Why is YOUR quote of Jude 1:5-7 verses OUT OF ORDER??? That's not going to fool us!

Jude 1:5-7
5 I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.
6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.
7 Even as (hos) Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
(KJV)

The comparative Greek word 'hos' begins the Jude 1:7 verse, POINTING BACK TO THE SUBJECT OF VERSE 6, not verse 5!

The "first estate" phrase which the fallen angels did not keep is Greek 'arche', which means 'beginning or origin'. It is also translated to "principality" in the KJV Bible. Pretty obvious the Bible translation you chose is based on men that try to get away from that original Greek meaning in the manuscripts!

And then the phrase "left their own habitation" is Greek 'apoleipo ho idios oiketerion', literally meaning 'left or forsook their own dwelling place'.

Out of context Veteran.

Try again, but this time look within the confines of the Bible. I will give you a clue; whom in the Bible (OT) forsook their own dwelling place because of their pride and arrogance?

They are humans - already fallen creatures, however these humans fell even further. They held positions of authority. The grave still holds them awaiting judgement. It was a place of their own dwelling which they lost (Not Heaven, which is Gods Dwelling). They have been in chains (figuratively speaking) since their judgement:- "Chains" the word used here is desmos, (contrast 2 Pet 2:4), and signifies the bonds by which a person (not angels) is held prisoner.

Oh, and you will need to let go of your error which is holding you back from understanding the truth of Jude 6
ballchain.gif
Let go Veteran - go back into the Holy Record and find the event - - its a memorable one like that of Eygpt and Sodom!

Its on earth Veteran - -can you hear me! Its on earth, like Jude 5 & Jude 7...on earth.

Its on earth!

So, Jude 6 is not talking about angels? But men? That's a first. And then there's accusations going here about taking things out of context? So, explain to us your song and dance why angels does not mean angels.

Most Bible Students understand the Greek word 'aggelos' which is translated 'Angels' is also translated 'messengers' when speaking of human beings e.g. John the baptist (Matt 11:10) and his messengers (Lk 7:24); the messengers of Jesus (Lk.9:52) and the men who spied out Jericho (James 2:25).

Regardless of the use of the word angels only human messengers can sin!

Maybe you ought to write your own Novel or work of Fiction with that kind of view which is totally outside the Scripture context. You might be able to sell a lot of those fictional stories.

But as for the Jude 1:5-7 Scripture, and all the OT Scripture evidence of the 'giants' being a literal hybrid, you'll never be able to scratch that out of God's Word like you try to do.

Not able to search the Scriptures Veteran? Not willing to ask the hard questions of the Word for fear of seeing truth? Jude 6 has got you in a bind because you can see your AST ("Angel sinning theory") doesnt fit the context of Judes warnings to believers on earth! Even though you were provided context, clues and hints you would rather reduce this study to the comical than take a serious look at Jude 5,6,7

Here is some more help for those others who may be reading and do desire to know truth.

Ironically the passage being discussed is exactly what I find myself doing here Veteran.

Insight

2 Pet 2:4 is not talking about human beings but spirits. You see Lucifer was not in Heaven when he sinned.....he was on the Earth. God had given him his own dominion but he was not satisfied with that......he wanted more than just being ruler over the Earth and angles that God put under him. He wanted to remove God as ruler over all and put himself there instead. That is why it says in Jude 1:6 they left their abode......they ascended above the clouds as it says in Isaiah 14. He was defeated and cast back to the Earth.
