There is a large group of "Christians" giving Christianity a bad name.
Most of them are on television. Fake healings.
Prosperity preaching and much more.
and many of them teach deconstruction
inclu sivism , universalism .
MANY no longer even BELEIVE the GOSPEL .
now they might say they do . but let me show you what i mean .
IF you came to a man and said TWO plus two is FOUR
and HE said no its five . WOULD you not then say , NO sir its four .
BUT , watch this
WHEN It comes to the gospel so many can cliam to beleive
WHICH clearly states that IN ORDER TO be saved YOU MUST beleive
HOW come so many might agree and say , WHY YES we do beleive
and THEN TURN right around
and tell a muslim , a unbleiving jew , a hindu , an athiest
Hey we all coming to GOD in our own ways .
WELL the last time i checked their answer to the gospel was and is
A RESOUNDING NO . so to them two plus two is not four
its five to one , s ix to the other
and THEN we got christains agreeing with that .
NO SIR .
EITHER WE BLEIEVE ONE MUST BE SAVED BY FAITH IN JESUS
OR we DONT . WE cannot cliam to BELIEVE and then turn around and allow and also beleive
IN UNBELIEF . AS DOES this so called INTERRELIGIOUS INTERIFATH DIALAOGUE
POPE LED , AND YEAH T RUMP LED , NAR realm lies .
EITHER we believe or we dont but it cant be both . Trump is every bit as dangerous
the nar realm is every bit as dangerous
as the very one world order and one world religoin THEY CLIAM to be against .
THEY ACTUALLY DO ITS BIDDING . TIME to flee ALL politicians
TIME to get out of them sold out ecumenical churches on both sides
and TIME for us to get back into our bibles . As i am sure you will a gree my friend .

I think that one can be a Christian and not attending any local, "institutional" church.

Such a person will miss the benefits of community, though. And it has been constantly showing to be very important, for mutual correction, education, for smoothing the edges of various extremisms and private errors, for mental health, optimism, usefulness, for the feeling of fulfillment etc. Or even for things like finding a compatible mate.
And organized supported missions.

But God will have a people upon the earth to maintain the Bible, and the Bible only, as the standard of all doctrines and the basis of all reforms. The opinions of learned men, the deductions of science, the creeds or decisions of ecclesiastical councils, as numerous and discordant as are the churches which they represent, the voice of the majority—not one nor all of these should be regarded as evidence for or against any point of religious faith. Before accepting any doctrine or precept, we should demand a plain “Thus saith the Lord” in its support.
Satan is constantly endeavoring to attract attention to man in the place of God. He leads the people to look to bishops, to pastors, to professors of theology, as their guides, instead of searching the Scriptures to learn their duty for themselves. Then, by controlling the minds of these leaders, he can influence the multitudes according to his will. GC 595.1 - GC 595.2

I attended a forum where the discussions were solely about the translation of scriptures and historical perspectives. They seemed to have no belief in the existence of a creator, viewing the Bible merely as artifacts, culture, and history.

I do agree with you that in order to be saved, we must believe. But don't you think that's a little generic? Believe in what? Believe in Jesus, absolutely, but for what? This is where many Christians go astray. They believe in Jesus, yes, but do they believe Jesus? As you say, they claim to accept the gospel, but what do they believe the gospel accomplishes? Many would say, oh, the scriptures say that Jesus came to save us from our sins. And that is true. But how? And what impact, if any, does that saving have on the everyday life of the Christian?
There is usually much agreement on the superficial. But when we start talking about the nitty-gritty, where our beliefs begin to demand changes to the way we live our lives, many tend to baulk and create avenues of escape.

I've always thought that would be a good source for a totally unbiased Bible.

Verily verily i say unto thee
if the jesus one beleives and hopes in speaks contrary in any way to the JESUS in the scriptures
THEN it aint JESUS and it wont save them . Many do tend to baulk and create avenues of escape ,
escape from the VERY TRUTH . And that my friend is their own delusion as they follow another jesus
created of men that always honors what their own heart desired to follow , and it always pleases the flesh .
For many do not take heed to the Fact that had one truly BELEIVED on JESUS they had beleived HIS WORDS
and their LOVE would have been first and formost upon HIM , upon GOD .
But many now follow a senusual love that has only led them into greater darkness and rebellion Against HIM .
SO a quick summation .
IF love seems to have a problem with TRUTH , with the words of GOD and of CHRIST and later of the apostels
WELL THEN , IT AINT OF GOD , IT OF THE WORLD .
and now a word .
He who loves the world is THE ENEMY OF GOD. OH yes . And can this be proven . YES .
For look at what their love has caused them to do , TO CAST OUT the words of GOD , seeing things HE said
as HATE , and as hateful . THEY declare war against him , by their love . And yet believe THEY SERVE HIM .
Nope . they serve another who FIRST REBELLLED against GOD and has led them into greater rebellion against GOD as well .
DO i need to even say WHO that one is . THE DEVIL . WE got us a delusion my friend
that was poured out by an ecumeincal harlot .e `

If it is sound scholarship you seek?

Here is someone deserving being given a hearing.
He was the pastor for Hal Lindsey and Chuck Swindoll.
Also, Billy Graham had requested that he would privately mentor him.

ROBERT B. THIEME, JR. (1918–2009) remains a significant voice of Christianity throughout the world. His diligent, expository teaching is based on the original languages of Scripture in light of the historical context in which the Bible was written. His innovative systems of vocabulary, illustrations, and biblical categories clearly communicate the infallible truths of God’s Word. Thieme recorded more than eleven thousand hours of sermons and published more than one hundred books covering much of the Bible.

Thieme graduated from the University of Arizona (Phi Beta Kappa) and Dallas Theological Seminary (summa cum laude). His seminary studies were interrupted by World War II military service during which he rose to the rank of lieutenant colonel in the United States Army Air Corps. After completion of his graduate work in 1950, he became pastor of Berachah Church in Houston, Texas. His extensive training in Greek, Hebrew, theology, history, and textual criticism provided the foundation for his demanding professional life of studying and teaching the Word of God. Thieme retired as pastor of Berachah Church after fifty-three years of faithful service.

Very important to note!
R. B. Thieme, Jr., Bible Ministries is a grace ministry and operates entirely on voluntary contributions. There is no price list for any of our material. No money is requested. When gratitude for the Word of God motivates a believer to give, he has the privilege of contributing to the dissemination of Bible doctrine.

Why are Bible scholars leaving Christianity?

Bible scholars are leaving Christianity in droves. Why?
Not because they don't understand the Bible, obviously. (they're Bible scholars)

- Do you have to be Christian to believe in God?
- Do you have to agree with the institutional church's positions to believe in God?

Previous topic on this subject.
Most of these are leaving because of biased false interpretations they have picked up and follow or are leaving "churchianity" versus Chrstianity.

No you can believe in god and not be Christian, but the consequences are horrid.

James 2:19
Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

lets compare the rebellious children of israel
to abraham .
Now both of they claimed to BELEIVE IN GOD .
but only one of them BELEIVED HIS WORDS . Abraham had the real faith .
SO now allow me some parting words .
IF a man cliams to beleive GOD and yet follows another religoin , HE lies and Believes NOT GOD .
If a man cliams to believe IN GOD and yet BELEIVES NOT JESUS IS THE CHRIST . THE VERY TESTIMONY THAT GOD HIMSELF
gave of the SON , They call GOD a liar .
AND lastly
if a man cliams to believe ON JESUS and yet BELIEVES NOT HIS WORDS , well NO FAITH .
FOR HAD ONE BELEIVED ON JESUS , THEY HAD BELIVED ON HIS WORDS TOO .

I think that the issue is that anyone who is truly serious in regards Christ Jesus, is clearly not wanted in any Church denomination nowadays.

They only do it for the money !

If anyone speeks up in the light of Christ Jesus in any Church denomination you will come under attack from within that Church.
All Churches are owned nowadays by the Governments, you can not preach openly from the Bible, but for what the Government dictate, or they do not get funding !
What does a first to 3 year Priest earn $60,000 a year. then up to over $110,000 a year ! I am now thinking that I should of became a Priest, if I was not Saved I would gladly do such for that sort of money. maybe ?
I thought such only got a free home and car and say $20.000 a year at max.

That's exactly what the enemy intends and orchestrates.

@St. SteVen this is NOT the same Richard C. Miller that is in the video that I watched from your first post , what a sad thirty six minutes that was . Being a Christian means there is a supernatural relationship between you and God and if this is not happening you probably are not a Christian . Being a Christian is not solely a relationship of the intellect .
