Since God seals the marriage bond no one can seperate what God has joined together. Since we are sinful people we are capable of doing terrible things. This, however, can not break the seal. Obviously if soneone is an abuser causing severe truma, one can sperate for a while until the other party gets therapy and healed. The notion that God divorced Israel is not true. On the contrary He died for their sins.
