the “Bible alone”? Then why does it say we must be taught???
Christians must be taught
We cannot read and decide doctrine for themselves according to scripture we must be “taught”!
Lk 1:4 That thou mightest know the certainty of those things, wherein thou hast been instructed.
Matt 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Acts 8:31 And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.
One faith!
Eph 4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism.
Jude 1:3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
One heart / one mind
Acts 4:32
And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul:
Romans 15:6
That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Apostles received the truth from Christ and are inspired by the Holy Spirit and are commanded to teach all men! Jn 8:32 Jn 16:13 Matt 28:19
Apostles have same mission, power, ministry, and authority as Christ!
Jn 20:21
You wrote (yet again)... the “Bible alone”? Then why does it say we must be taught???
Christians must be taught
We cannot read and decide doctrine for themselves according to scripture we must be “taught”!
That is what your priests tell you, but it is not the truth. They want you to believe that so that they can feed you whatever kind of myths they want and get you (plural) to believe them as truth.
The written word of God has existed for many thousands of years. It has not been passed down solely by oral teaching.
If you won't be taught by the written words of God, then you open yourself up to whatever mythology men, including your "priests" want you to believe.
Luke 1:1-4, "Now many have undertaken to compile an account of the things that have been fulfilled among us, like the accounts passed on to us by those who were eyewitnesses and servants of the word from the beginning. So it seemed good to me as well, because I have followed all things carefully from the beginning, to
write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus,
so that you may know for certain the things you were taught."
So much for your unScriptural nonsense: We cannot read and decide doctrine for themselves according to scripture we must be “taught”! Should I believe you or Luke?
Luke 4:16-21, "Now Jesus came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, as was his custom.
He stood up to read, and the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was given to him. He unrolled the scroll and found the place where it was written,
“
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives
and the regaining of sight to the blind,
to set free those who are oppressed,
to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”
Then he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant, and sat down. The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fixed on him. Then he began to tell them, “Today this scripture has been fulfilled even as you heard it being read.”
Jesus read what was actually written in the scroll of the prophet Isaiah. By so doing, He verified that that the written words of God were the truth. Notice that He did not
teach or interpret anything about these words, other than to say that they had been fulfilled.
He let the Bible speak for itself!!!
Then you foolishly quote from Jude: "Beloved, when I gave all diligence to
write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to
write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints." Jude 1:3
Write to you! Get it? The written word! He didn't write telling some priest to teach the people but wrote to them directly, as did the other Biblical authors. Read Paul's epistles! He wrote directly to the people of those locations.
If you can't be taught directly from the Bible that is nothing to boast about!!! It is a tragedy of the highest order!!!
The Bible is the only source of reliable truth. That is why even Jesus, God incarnate, read from Isaiah.
Sola scriptura!
