Why will the two witness' wear sackcloth?

Because they are not yet clothed from on high in the shining white garments of the elect. Sackcloth is like wool or mohair which is itchy, prickly, scratchy, and worn obviously as a sign of grief. Wool is to the garment what leaven is to bread in the Scripture and that is that both wool and leaven are analogies for sin. For the same reason wool is forbidden in the garments of the priests, (and forbidden to be mixed with linens). Do you not think it strange that the "two witnesses" will apparently slay anyone who even thinks of "hurting" them or even contemplates doing them harm of any kind, (the type of "harm" is not specified but rather only the intent is what triggers their fiery response, lol) even though the Scripture clearly commands every one of us that "Thou shalt not kill" right there in the Ten Words Decalogue? There is no such thing as "righteous killing" done upon the earth by anyone, anywhere, and especially not since Yeshua went to the Cross. The Revelation 11 passage is symbolic of "the twins" which are about to be called up to stand before the Most High: Jacob has he loved but Esau has he hated, and both sons from the same lump of clay, one of them a son of the Most High and one of them a son of perdition and vessel fit for destruction. :)guysmith said:

I believe because of the great sorrows around them, & even personally; at least 1/3rd of every person on Earth will have been killed, & even themselves have suffered dear losses. They will witness the innocent, infants & children afflicted, hospitals & old age homes abandoned, starvation all around them, nuclear burns, & poisoned waters, & this among the raging Anti-Christ murdering so many....& they carry God's heart. I believe that they will preach Jesus as redeemer, & above all, because they know God ordained them to; they will put it on out of obedience.

Zechariah 13:1-5 DRB
1. In that day there shall be a fountain opened to the house of David and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem for sin and for uncleanness.
2. And it shall come to pass in that day, saith Jehovah of hosts, that I will cut off the names of the idols out of the land, and they shall no more be remembered; and also I will cause the prophets and the unclean spirit to pass out of the land.
3. And it shall come to pass, if any shall yet prophesy, that his father and his mother that begat him shall say unto him, Thou shalt not live; for thou speakest lies in the name of Jehovah; and his father and his mother that begat him shall thrust him through when he prophesieth.

Because they are the two trumpets that will be assembling the True people of God while they fight off all who hate the people of God out of jealousy and His Word for it is torment for them to hear. They have sack clothe on because there is going to be a death in the family, Old Israel is going to die but don't worry, when Old Israel sees Joseph/Jesus His is STRENGTHENED. While only a remnant of 7,000 of her natural seed who God has spared by grace will make it there will be those who were made worthy in Christ will survive as they will be caught up as Restored Israel.
God is the one bringing all the nations armies against her to ravish her to see who has a willing heart to do so, and WOE to those who have pledged their allegiance to their countries flag to do so. However.... they will be deceived, because the only ones left in the land will be those who have refused Christ... the true people of God will be in the air with Christ looking down that come with him to fight against these nations who hated Israel. A holy nation that will be born in 1 day and the womb to heavenly Jerusalem our mother will be SHUT!
If you love the Jewish people, then we must cast them out of that old covenant of death due to sinful ways into the new where their past sins erased and eventually be taken away so God will remember them no more because they Don't do them anymore!

The sackcloth represents the bodily form of the two witness that reflect HUMILITY. They will be observed in the most unexpected form, just as God the SON was in Jesus Christ our Lord who was the carpenters son and of the mild one Mary.

I think what it comes down to , it is a coarse and rough fabric which is not all that comfortable or stylish.
I think that rules out any modern televangelists in their Armani suits (smile)
Maybe that was the whole point of the attire of the two witnesses.

be able to pay their bills including cable and the internet. How do you propose that a believer (which
does not take the mark) will be able to see the two witnesses in action once

Wow, how blessed you will be to have CNN when it all goes down! Poor John, (and all of the first century Ekklesia) had to see these things IN THE SPIRIT. I think I will abide within the Scripture and its understandings seeing how, according to your hypothesis, the Revelation of Yeshua would have been made null and void to anyone who did not have TV and Internet access in the past 1900 years. :lol:guysmith said:
