If women were skilled drivers we would see them winning in motorsports
This is simply not true. Most women just have no interest in racing. That doesn't make them less skilled. I've already demonstrated that. It takes skill to take a car that would normally get maybe 35mpg to get over 40mph.

In my late teens, I worked for Home Health Care and I had a limited time to get between homes to care for elderly in their homes. I used to drive close to 100mph to get to the next job/home on time. I drove so fast, the broken line between lanes looked like a solid line. (lol) I drove fast by necessity. I made it safely with no accidents and no speeding tickets. Would you call that skill?? lol

Right now, my priority is not running my car into the ground and getting the best mileage I can to use my finances wisely. It all requires skill of different sorts.

Motorsport is the best measure of a drivers skill. If women have no interest then too bad, it's because their not good at it.

Unless more women start winning in motorsports, then men will always be the more skillful drivers. There is no other measure to say otherwise.

Maybe women are safer drivers.
Maybe not. That is debatable.
But men are definitely more skilled using the only measure we have, motorsports.

Just out of interest do you think the lack of women in motor sport is possibly down to lack of opportunity. I am not talking about skill and the competition between men and women because I happen to think there are good and bad drivers in both groups. Hasn‘t it mainly been a male dominated sport over the years.
I actually do think men and women react and respond differently, that has to affect the way they drive at times. Me, I learned to drive years ago but realised I would be a danger on the roads !!!! lol

There have been female F1 drivers.
In Australia there have been female supercar drivers and drag racing drivers. In America there have been female nascar drivers and indy car drivers.

The opportunity to become a professional racing car driver is the same for women as it is for men. It's just that women tend not to choose it.

More men are mechanically minded and tend to like cars more than women do. Not many women become mechanics, pilots or engineers either for that same reason.

I don't agree with that. Men and women are like forks and spoons; they go together and are best suited for different things.

Just like who is the GOAT in sports, comparing men and women depend on the standard used to measure. You are right that F1 results is a great standard to measure driving skill and I reject @TLHKAJ's claim that being cautious is a skill. Prudence is a virtue not a skill. A major divide between men and women is managing risk.

Women tend to avoid it and men OBVIOUSLY manage it much, much better. @TLHKAJ can only claim in theory that women are equally good at managing risk because every measurable in practice shows the opposite - avoiding risk is not the same as managing risk. One must embrace risk to be given credit for managing it. Notice her cop out; women aren't interested in F1 racing? This is her way of acknowledging the facts are not on her side. This explains why all the pressure and societal expectation is on the man to take the risk.
  1. Women don't compete with men to find out what that noise was in the middle of the night.
    • Why do men have the burden to PROTECT? Not only are they physically superior, they are superior in managing the risk - and being prudent - that comes with physical and other types of protection.
    • In a thread years ago I asked the question, "Is it prudent to sexually solicit a rapist?" The question was designed to show the risk and responsibility women take for dressing provocatively in public. In societies that are not so feminized, men don't allow women to sexually solicit rapists. This is a form of PROTECTION. Feminists call it oppression while denying there is such a thing as guilty victims (of rape); it's all men's fault.
    • IF it's all men's fault, then it's all the men who have the power to PROTECT, including deciding rules of prudent, cautious behavior. Feminists want to separate one side of the coin from the other.
  2. Women don't compete with men to ask a potential mate out for a date.
  3. Women don't compete with men to pay their share of the cost of the first date.
  4. Women don't compete with men to be humiliated at the alter waiting for the groom to come to them or be made the fool.
  5. Women don't compete with men in business in managing risk but want equal representation in the boardroom as a matter of sexism not merit. With power comes responsibility but women want all the power but none of the responsibility, none of the risk that comes with making a decision. That's where victim mentality comes in; somewhere there's a man who is at fault for what these 'strong and independent' feminists choose to do. You may not be that creative to connect the dots but they are!
When men act cautiously, women often invoke shaming language, such as, "if you were a real man you'd ..." I always find it funny when a women asserts superior knowledge in knowing what a real man does. LOL

Having said all that, I agree with @TLHKAJ's that the standard of accident breakdown by sex is a perfectly legitimate standard to measure what sex is the better driver. F1 racers make up a small percentage of the driving population. Two standards. Two ways of measuring. Two different conclusions. Who knew?

^ Brilliant. A flaw in feminists focus on outcomes is that given the same opportunity, women make different choices - and there's nothing wrong with that.

Women should make choices to maximize happiness, not to fulfill feminist utopia of equality. And they are, which explains why many women reject feminism while believing (rightly) that men and women are equal (in the eyes of God, the law, etc).

Here's what Google has to say when it come to road accidents
To summarize, women and old people get into more accidents due to being distracted - but they are minor. Men, while getting into fewer accidents, get into more severe accidents.

Severity v Frequency.
