i got this in a email i know this young lady .. when it comes to the unknown things a head of us.. i would dare say we all have a problem in this area ---this is just simply a devotion. none of this is my thoughts

Happy Monday, Friend! I pray you are encouraged by today's devo, Into the Unknown.

Happy reading -Cassie

I'm a big fan of control. I like to know what's happening and when it's happening. I love having a plan and knowing I’m ready for whatever lies ahead. The very thought of the unknown makes me cringe, but it seems like that's God's favorite place for me these days, the valley of unknown.

As I prepared this thought today, I grew curious about the fear of the unknown, because let's be honest; fear is why I'm not a fan of the unknown. I can't control the unknown, therefore; I fear it. In my curiosity, I did a little google search, and there it was, the word I've been searching for, xenophobia: fear of the unknown.

Maybe I'm alone in my struggle with xenophobia, but I highly doubt it, and this little phobia is what has held me back in my pursuit of faith, life, and ministry more than anything else. I've allowed the fear of the unknown to rob me of so many precious moments over the years. This fear has stopped me from adventures with my family, writing books, pursuing friendships, following God's heart in certain areas of ministry, and much more. Maybe you too are contending xenophobia. Perhaps you're facing the unknown in your marriage or finances. Maybe you have a wayward child, and you experience fear of the unknown over their future. Whatever unknown you stand staring at today, I came to encourage you and me. God is in the unknown. He's with us, leading us, and working everything out. There is goodness to be found in the unknown, and His name is Jesus. It's in the unknown where we have but one good option, lean into Him.

We only have two choices; lean into Jesus and let him lead us or give up short of the breakthrough, promise, blessing, or goodness of God. God doesn't allow us to experience the unknown to punish us but to grow our faith in Him. The unknown can be scary, but trusting God through the unknown is far more rewarding. And what we see as unknown, God sees fully. So what do we do when facing the unknown? Persevere. Keep moving forward, believing that God is with you. Jesus left us the blueprint when He endured the cross. I'm sure the fear of the unknown was real to Him, but He suffered anyway, and He did it for you. Let's not allow the unknown to rob one more moment, relationship, gift, promise, or breakthrough from you. Don't grow weary and don't give up.

For consider him who endured such hostility from sinners against himself, so that you won't grow weary and give up. Hebrews 12:3

Uh.... isn't xenophobia more a fear of "strange" or "foreign" people or things, than just things "unknown?"

We were doing a section on suicide, when one of my instructors said to me: "You will never commit suicide... because you are too curious and anxious to know what the unknown 'tomorrow' will bring."

Correct. Just people. Like the gaijin and the gweilo (if your are Japanese or Chinese). Or the farangi if your are from the Middle East.

I do think "things" are included in that, too.
Yeah, I guess it would be a bit broader.
xenophobia
noun
xe·no·pho·bia | \ ˌze-nə-ˈfō-bē-ə , ˌzē-\
Definition of xenophobia
: fear and hatred of strangers or foreigners or of anything that is strange or foreign

But that does not include ghoulies, and ghosties, and long leggedly beasties, and things that go "bump" in the night.

Xenophobia only came out as a word tossed freely about say 20 years ago or so in the mainstream topic and just like the word racist is used nowadays, such is abused in commonly off the track, to be clamed to be racial prejudice.
A racial prejudice person is just a moron who is ignorant. but a racist could be could only be just pointing out facts.

The word racist does not have to be a Prejudice point of view at all, but it is when coming from under the Political Correctness socialist social Marxist point of view, such is taboo as you do not have the right to be allowed to think for yourself, as you are not free to think or express such, as they own you.

Not to mention the word prejudice is bastardised as well, to be only a bad thing or a taboo subject under the same socialist dribble.
Prejudice is a reality in all people it's part of our nature and you can never get rid of such a thing, but the prejudice such as in the case of stupidity is not to be given light. but if one were to err in caution as to where they tread, that is a good prejudice that may save your life or limb.
Pre judging others to a degree can be a very worthy asset, without such one would be a fool.

Albert Einstein said common sense is the collection of prejudices acquired by the age 18, and criticism is just prejudice made plausible.

What's wrong with Healthy criticism ? nothing ! everything should be able to be challenged or you will become enslaved due to such constraints.
To discriminate is knowledge and wisdom it's intelligence at work, it's not malice nor is it a Sin.

Nothing wrong with fear of strangers, do you leave your doors open in your house 24/7 would you invite just anyone into your house or give the keys to your car to just anyone.
Do you know that some races cultures are not to be trusted in some ways and that you may detest their ways, nothing fundamentally wrong with that is it ? one would have to be stupid or a fool not to, if you truly know the facts of such.

Hatred normally has a foundation as to why one does hate another, never seen one hate for no reason unless they are a idiot or a fool.

If one thinks something is strange or foreign to them I would think that caution would not be out of place for such a one, or they maybe simple minded or foolish. would one just speak openly if one went to a Islamic Nation demanding that being Gay ect must be tolerated by all.

The jihadists know how to put guilt on the unsuspecting West with words like *Islamophobia*, *xenophobia*, and *racism*. And not one of the Western politicians has the guts or the intelligence to expose this nonsense. Since Islam declared war on the West, Christians, and Jews, the only appropriate response should be:
XENOPHOBIA IS OUR CURRENT POLICY UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
