Psalm 55:22
Cast your burden on the Lord,
And He shall sustain you;
He shall never permit the righteous to be moved
What a wonderful thought this is! The Creator and Sustainer of All tells us that we are not just permitted, but commanded to cast our troubles and worries at His feet. He allows horrible sinners to come into His presence by the blood of His Son, and instead of condemnation, He offers peace and love. That is the power of the blood of Christ. Christ hears our pleas and concerns, but also our anger and frustration. He is an open ear, ready to hear your every concern. Not only does He hear us, but He also actively sustains us when we need Him most. The Hebrew word for sustain, Kul, means to endure, to provide, and to hold. Christ is the one who endures us through trials, he provides for our every need, and he holds us close when we feel alone. This is His love for His chosen. And as if all this wasn't enough, God promises to be there for us throughout all of life as well. Christ's care for us does not end when trials end, but He is ever present even in times of peace, ready for whatever trial He has for us next. He does not just govern the race of life; He runs it with us, side-by-side until the finish line. Cast your cares upon Him and take Heart; For He is there, and He is listening!
