Day 9
John 13:17
"If ye know these things, blessed are ye if ye do them."
If you know the Word of God, do what it commands! All the head knowledge is the world is useless without the heart knowledge to apply it. You can memorize the entirety of Scripture, and yet if you do not apply these truths to you life, it is but a millstone around the neck that will swiftly drag you to the depth of Hell. If you have been given the gift of knowledge, then use it! What great proof it is for the need of the Holy Spirit's illumination; many may know that Scriptures, but how many do them? It takes a work of the Spirit upon the heart to actually apply the truths learned in the Word to our daily lives. Reading the Scriptures does not make you a Christian. Knowing the Scriptures does not make you a Christian. Doing the Scriptures is evidence of true Christian conversion. It is better to know but one command of the Word and to actually do it than to know every last jot and tittle yet keep them locked away in your memory. Christ's focus was not on the minds of men, but rather the heart. Christ never told anyone they needed a "new mind"; but He told plenty they needed a "new heart". If you know the truth of God, you are under the obligation of the Savior to do them. Do you love Christ? Has His Spirit transformed your life, and given you a new heart? Then learn His commands, and do them!
