Day 2
Psalm 2:12
“Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.”
Here we see what our Savior would have us do, and the penalty for neglecting this duty. Christ is King of all, and it is indeed a terrible thing to kindle his wrath even in the slightest. He is the same god whose voice alone roars like a lion and causes his chosen to tremble, how much more fear his anger must petrify! We must remember that this anger is not without cause. Christ is indeed just when he angers at the unconverted living on his land. He is the King of earth, and as such all living things belong to Him. Just because the non believer refuses to admit He is King does not make his Kingship any less. He asks nothing of us but that which is due; No more, No less. Jesus says He is the Way, and those who refuse to bow to Him do indeed perish. Never one to leave His people in a state of sorrow, Christ reassures us that we have his blessing, protection, and guidance if we but place our whole trust in him. When we put our trust in Him, He promises that the King of all, the same King whose anger causes even demons to tremble, the King who calmed storms and raised the dead, He promises that this same King is on our side, and that we have His blessing. When we bow our knee to the King, we become a part of His beloved bride, and heirs of the Salvation He purchased with His own blood. So kiss the son, and bask in the multitude of benefits He will undoubtedly pour upon us!
