Day 5
2 Corinthians 2:17-18
"Therefore if any man be in Christ, let him be a new creature. Old things are passed away: behold, all things are become new. And all things are of God, which hath reconciled us unto himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given unto us the ministry of reconciliation."
All things become new! Who were you before that wonderful Savior called Jesus rescued you from your own wicked ways? Who were you before you were called to be a follower of Christ? Who were you? It doesn't matter. However evil or wicked you were before you were saved is irrelevant to God. You have been completely forgiven, completely cleansed, and completely renewed; you are a new creature! The old things are buried, and God will "Blot them out" and "remember them no more". [Hebrews 8:12]. Sometimes, we think that a completely clean slate is all that God offers, and fail to realise that He offers so much more! Not only are our negative sins forgiven, but He also adds Christ's positive righteousness to our account. We are viewed in the eyes of God as He views Christ Himself! No work is needed, no 'keeping up of one's faith', not even a joint effort; God fully and totally takes care of our debt, and then sends us on our way with the great riches of His wonderful grace in tow! With this precious gift as our own, we can forget whoever it is we once were, and press forwards to become that which God wants us to be. Who were you before you met Christ? My friend, that man is long gone. May we today remember that forgiveness to the highest degree is ours if we but plead the blood of Christ. And if you have not and are genuinely trying to find Jesus, take heart; for if you search for Him, this can only mean that He had already found you.
