Unto Us a King is Born!

First, I would like to wish you all on behalf of Path of Warriors a very Merry Christmas! as this is the time of year where we spend our time at home with our families, opening presents, having a nice roast dinner as well as putting our feet up in front of the TV watching movies. Christmas Day is the day we all forget about work, about every problem that’s has occurred throughout the year etc.

But my question is this do you know the real reason we celebrate Christmas? Why everyone is off from work? Why families are gathering under one roof?

Well its simple; the real reason we celebrate Christmas is because we are celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ our King.

Luke 2:11 - For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

The one that came into the world and saved us by dying on the cross and rose back to life in 3 days. This is what I see as the greatest gift to all man-kind is the that God himself sent his own son to the earth to not only save us but to welcome us and show us who we are as individuals.

I don’t know about you but during the Christmas times I would be imagining how a prefect Christmas would be especially having a big table filled with that Christmas buffet laid perfectly on the dinner table which for those that go gym will set them back big time from just that one night with the family! As well as being so excited to open presents, getting the gifts that you really wanted. But my Christmas isn’t like how I imagine it; I would be getting gifts that I can use daily like socks or perfume and I don’t get the big table filled with all kinds of food that I can devour haha. But what I do get is a nice roast dinner sitting in front of the telly with my family together.

From all this I learnt that without our King being born into the Earth we wouldn’t have Christmas; and if we didn’t have Christmas there wouldn’t be that time of year where everyone in the family would come together, no presents to open and no time off from work. So I want you to notice that Christmas isn’t just about the presents, the food, or the people; It’s about the one who caused Christmas in the first place. The greatest gift that everyone has been given cannot be contained in a box wrapped and placed under a tree. The Lord Jesus Christ coming into the world loving us when we couldn’t love ourselves, encouraging us when our courage has lowered and taught us how much WE ALL mean to Him.

John 3:16 - For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Don’t get me wrong it is good to give gifts, but what I am trying to say is that even though that this time of year can be the bestest time of year but for some it could be the worstest time they will experience. So like our king coming in our world and blessing us with His love, I suggest we bless other that are in need, spread some love and kindness; give and don’t expect anything back. Not only do this just during the Christmas times do throughout the rest of the year and the rest of 2018 and witness all how much a gift that other haven’t even asked for.
