Thank you @amadeusAmen!
Jesus provided an example when He asked to have that cup removed here:
"And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt" Matt 26:39
Not the same? Of course it is the same. We should always want God's will for us, and if our will is different than His, we should want Him to help make our will equal to His.
According to what Paul wrote, what does God expect from us? A 10% offering? Try 100%!
"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service." Rom 12:1
Consider what this widow gave!
"And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much.
And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing.
And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury:
For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living." Mark 12:41-44
I only met 2 Christians both called for a time to ministry that followed this Scripture in Mark 10:21 re sell what you have, give to the poor, take up your cross and follow me:
Bible Gateway passage: Mark 10:21 - King James Version
One sold or gave away everything to go to Rwanda but then came back and does healing work. The stage was temporary.
Another sold everything to go save orphans in Haiti.
Most people are arguing over
1. Taxing other people, complaining about wealthy people as greedy
2. Whether church leaders having wealth makes them hypocrites
3. Either judging people for being poor, judging them for being rich, or trying to judge or regulate "who is giving how much to help who" which isn't our business to judge.
Right now I'm more concerned we spread wealth of KNOWLEDGE and understanding.
The real key is Abundance Mentality where people share without judging or fear,
Versus Scarcity Mentality with fear of having to compete with others.
This judging people on appearance of what they look like by their wealth is a form of competing or coveting what others have going on.
We have much greater gifts and blessings than arguing over who is receiving what.
