Rest in the Gospel ....get His Spirit
No one is going to rest in this world! Those who endure to the end will be counted worthy to rest in Christ in the end:
"…we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations
that ye endure: Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be
counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer:… And to you who are troubled
rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels," (2 Thessalonians 1:4-7)
Because I Rest in the Gospel Of Grace Plus Nothing
Who told you to ignore this scripture?:
"…giving all diligence,
add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity." (2 Peter 1:5-7)
God ain’t so much interested in what “ You”
"For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil." (1 Peter 3:12)
You say you sin.
Sin is evil.
Beware. Beware.
You ain’t obeying. You are an admitted sinner even now:
"Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof." (Romans 6:12)
Turn in your Scowl for a Smile...
"Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep:
let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up." (James 4:8-10)
"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. Wherein ye greatly rejoice,
though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That
the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ" (1 Peter 1:3-7)
So the question is:
Will the trial of
your faith be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ?
You better do this my friend and stop listening to false teachings:
"Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you,
except ye be reprobates?" (2 Corinthians 13:5)
