A spiritual Christian is one who is a temple of God where no sin exists.

A person who claim to be a Christian and continues to sin is at best a baby Christian.

I believe this to be a fair assessment of what The Lord was saying through His servant Paul.

How many times in John's letters did Jesus say that if we truly loved Him we would follow His Commands.

Thankful doesn't practice what he preaches. I've caught him in a lie before.

The question is if he actually BELIEVES you must be sinless or not. That's justification by works, my friends- and not the gospel.
If he BELIEVES in salvation by faith alone, then he may yet be saved. However, Paul says you will be cursed by God for preaching a gospel other than the one given.

Last I checked, cursed people are in the same room as Satan, and won't ever see the Kingdom of Heaven.

This is true. All people, no matter who they are (unless it's Jesus, of course), no one is without sin. We cannot be as perfect as Jesus. However, we need to do everything in our power to be as much like Him as we can.

If we have faith, but don't do anything with it, what's the point in our faith at all...? To escape the flames of hell? I'm not saying that people shouldn't want to escape that. However, our purpose should also be bringing others to God. This is what Jesus Himself did, and we're supposed to model ourselves after Him as closely as we can.

For people to be able to perfectly "practice what they preach", they would have to be as perfect as God. Again, no one is perfect; we're all liars, thieves, adulterers, etc., because that is our human nature. HUMAN nature comes easily. Sometimes we say things that we shouldn't or we don't do enough research before stating what we think we know.

But, we have to strive to be Christ-like, even if we're saved, and that, of course, requires works. You can be what you consider a "good person", but if you see someone in need, and don't do something about it, you're in the wrong. This goes both for physical state AND spiritual state. If people are deprived of knowledge they need to strengthen their spiritual state, you help them in whatever way they need to be helped, by speaking God's Word to them, and if they're in need of clothes, food, etc. you're supposed to help them with these things, too. This shows that we truly have God in our lives, and when people see that, they potentially want to seek out the Lord for themselves.

Absolutely right- I won't discount that.

But Thankful believes a perfect life is MANDATORY for Heaven.

Nope, perfect life is impossible; trying our best (through prayer and serving God) is the best a human can do, that's for certain. If we had to be perfect to be saved, we'd all be cast straight into hell.

I used to have some friends that went to a church where the pastor taught the kids they were supposed to be sinless... and I'm not saying being sinless wouldn't be awesome... nor am I condoning sin... but being real... we all fall short...

So anyways I role with them to the guys church and the guy must have assumed I was their friend who didn't know the Lord yet because he pointed at me in front of the whole congregation and started yelling at me, "I know where you've been and what you've been doing" haha... I just started laughing at the guy... afterwards I went up to him and introduced myself and let him know that I was already a believer and that I worked at a church... haha... the sad thing was the guy eventually got rolled for committing adultry and lost his church business and most of my friends who went there ended up really confused and kind of unsure about the Lord because they were all trusting in their own righteousness and that of their pastor instead of the righteousness of the Lord...

I would love nothing more than to be sinless... but I'm not... so all honor and glory to the Lord who is my righteousness... until the morning star rises fully in my heart... can't wait!!!

Johntold us those who did not know God sinned and asked forgiveness and wereforgiven, but once a person comes to know God he or she will not sin.



Scripture goes on to say that if aperson who does know God uses their free will to sin there is no repentance for that person.

That is an old story, told in today’s language. We have a scripture story that tells us about the same thing.



(Acts 5:1-11) “There was another man, however, called Ananias. He and his wife, Sapphira, agreed to sell a property; but with his wife’s connivance he kept back part of the proceeds, and brought the rest and presented it to the apostles. Ananias, Peter said ‘now can Satan have so possessed you that you should lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the money from the land? While you still owned the land, wasn’t it yours to keep, and after you had sold it wasn’t the money yours to do with as you liked? What put this scheme into your mind? It is not to men that you have lied, but to God. When he heard this Ananias fell down dead. This made a profound impression on everyone present. The younger men got up, wrapped the body in a sheet, carried it out and buried it.

Any one can make up a story of people who fail God. When sinners want to be thought of as righteous they need to pant everyone else as sinners.



A sinner is a slave of Satan. So a sinner will say and do what ever Satan asks of him or her. Why would any Christian listen to a sinner?

All of these reveal that it means those who willingly practice sin are the people who don’t know God. In both instances, whether to practice sin or to practice righteousness, it takes being willing to do one or the other. We are to practice righteousness to come away from sin as best as we possibly can (through prayer, of course :) ), and as I said before, we must repent of all sins that are incurred along the way. :)

So..in essence, you are saying that you have never sinned, never been dishonest or said something to someone that you should not have?

The bible says that only Jesus was sinless, that is why he was the ultimate sacrifice for sin on our behalf...salvation is a free gift but sanctification is a process in which all believers are being transformed into the likeness of God with the aide of the Holy Spirit. Even Paul understood this when he said:

Philippians 3
[sup]7[/sup] But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. [sup]8[/sup] What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ [sup]9[/sup] and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith. [sup]10[/sup] I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, [sup]11[/sup] and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead. [sup]12[/sup] Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. First of all I did not say that I have never sinned. I will witness that after God made his home in me, and I was made clean, that I have not deliberately committed a sin. That has been over thirty years ago. ​

Jesus called us to be perfect, and when onehas been taught to not even commit a sin not leading to death, then one will be perfect.​

(Matthew 5:48) “Even the pagans do as much, do they not? You must therefore be perfect just as your heavenly Father is perfect.”



(1 John 5:17) “Every kind of wrongdoing is sin, but not all sin is deadly.”

All of these reveal that it means those who willingly practice sin are the people who don’t know God. In both instances, whether to practice sin or to practice righteousness, it takes being willing to do one or the other. We are to practice righteousness to come away from sin as best as we possibly can (through prayer, of course :) ), and as I said before, we must repent of all sins that are incurred along the way. :)

The tool often used is the Greek Word.

I believe the Holy Spirit was much involved with thepeople that translated the Greek scripture to the English version. I also believe they understood the Greek aswell or better than the people who try to make people believe the Englishversion is not accurate.



Whata con and an elitist act it is to use a study of a language to try and convinceothers he or she is right because they have some special knowledge of a language.



Thereare any numbers of translations of the bible, and all tend to slant the Word to read such as to verify one theology or another



Hyperboleis also used a lot. Jesus did not mean that it is just an exaggeration. Then people will go on and tell one what he really meant. Tell me how does anyone know unless Jesus told him or her? If Jesus told them he will tell us also right?



Metaphorically Is used much the same way as hyperbole, and the people who use this tool are of course the experts who can tell one just what Jesus meant. Wow they must be really intelligent, like us simple people can’t read,and understand.



Another tool often used is that part ofthe written Word is not talking to us. People don’t like what a letter is saying, so then if it is not speakingto them it can be ignored. They want usto believe that the bible is like our history books.



Separating our spirit from our bodies,as if one is not part of the other. This tool is used to make our actions not accountable. Our spirit don’t sin so only the body is held accountable. What is so unbelievable is many people buy into that garbage.



After all these tools have been exposed as such, then the last tool isto denigrate, defame, malign, and vilify the person who has exposed thetwisting tools.

First of all I did not say that I have never sinned. I will witness that after God made his home in me, and I was made clean, that I have not deliberately committed a sin. That has been over thirty years ago. ​

Jesus called us to be perfect, and when onehas been taught to not even commit a sin not leading to death, then one will be perfect.​

Do you apply this to all English translations and translators?

Personally I only use about six different English versions of the bible, so would not know what all bibles are like.​

​

I generalized because it was to make a point that one could never be sure of the biases of the translators.​

​

When Jesus/Holy Spirit is leading one, he or she does not need to be concerned about what version of the bible is correct. Jesus/Holy Spirit will guide one to the truth.
