The Holy Ghost remits our sins instead of baptism?
The blood of Christ removes sin. You receive that blood by having faith that the blood will do that for you.

"in Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses" Ephesians 1:7

We are made dead and buried in Christ at water baptism, not Spirit infilling

There is power in having faith in Jesus Christ.
Which is exactly why Jesus said that we must believe and be baptized to be saved(Mark 16:16). And all this time you thought he said you must only believe to be saved in the verse?

We are crucified with Christ, but not dead. We can still come off the cross.
The POWER of sinful flesh is indeed dead in the believer. He is no longer a slave to the flesh. But surely we are free to walk in the flesh if we want to, even though it definitely no longer has authority to make you serve it like it used to have.

Ferris...,

17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.

19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.

20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.

22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:

23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.

24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?

25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

Meh!

"You, however, are controlled not by the flesh, but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you." Romans 8:9
Whaat?..,

This is what I am saying by the spirit man is saved but the carnal man is lost. The spirit man goes to heaven but our carnal man physically dies.

That's the believer in the desperation of his old, unsaved life. Keep reading into chapter 8 and how Christ and the Holy Spirit delivers him from 'this body of death'.

I'm not knocking the obedience to be water baptized. I'm knocking the belief that the water itself is what redeems us.
