The Shema from the Jewish Tanakh reads....
"Hear, O Israel: The Lord is our God; the Lord is one. דשְׁמַ֖ע יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל יְהֹוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֵ֖ינוּ יְהֹוָ֥ה | אֶחָֽד:"
In Hebrew, you can see clearly who the one God of Israel is....
יְהֹוָ֥ה ....Yahweh...Jehovah, mentioned twice in that declaration.
There is no three....just one God of Israel.
Exodus 3:14-15.... (Tanakh)
"14 God said to Moses, "Ehyeh asher ehyeh (I will be what I will be)," and He said, "So shall you say to the children of Israel, 'Ehyeh (I will be) has sent me to you.'" ידוַיֹּ֤אמֶר אֱלֹהִים֙ אֶל־משֶׁ֔ה אֶֽהְיֶ֖ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר אֶֽהְיֶ֑ה וַיֹּ֗אמֶר כֹּ֤ה תֹאמַר֙ לִבְנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אֶֽהְיֶ֖ה שְׁלָחַ֥נִי אֲלֵיכֶֽם:
15 And God said further to Moses, "So shall you say to the children of Israel, 'The Lord God of your forefathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.' This is My name forever, and this is how I should be mentioned in every generation.
"The Lord God" is
יְהֹוָ֞ה Yahweh, not known by any other name.
"Let them know that You-Your name alone is the Lord, Most High over all the earth. יטוְיֵֽדְע֗וּ כִּי־אַתָּ֬ה שִׁמְךָ֣ יְהֹוָ֣ה לְבַדֶּ֑ךָ עֶ֜לְי֗וֹן עַל־כָּל־הָאָֽרֶץ: (Psalm 83:18 KJV)
You can see that even though the Jews refrained from uttering the divine name...it is there in their scripture.....Yahweh......who is not and never was Jesus.
Your translation does not hold water if you are suggesting some kind of threesome here....
יְהֹוָ֣ה is "
Most High"....meaning no one higher....no one equal.
We could actually say the same to you....Do you really love Jesus or just your own doctrines? Would you love him less if you found out that Jesus never taught what you believe? If he is not God, would you still love him the same way?
I have already told you that I am not "born again" and have no such anointing from God. My natural inclination is to enjoy life in "paradise" with all the people I love, many of whom have already died. I have the hope of the resurrection.....not that these ones are already in heaven, but that they are 'sleeping', unaware of how much time has elapsed. Such is the peace of death. (Ecclesiastes 9:5, 10) They will be returned to their loved ones in the general resurrection of the dead, after Jesus has established his Kingdom over the earth. (John 5:28-29) In all the resurrections mentioned in the Bible, this was the case.
Read John 11:11-14 and see where Jesus said Lazarus was....?
Paul tells us that the resurrection of the "elect" (chosen ones) would not begin until Christ's return.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18.....
"We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, concerning those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve like the rest, who have no hope. 14 Since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, in the same way God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep through Jesus. 15 For we say this to you by a revelation from the Lord: We who are still alive at the Lord’s coming will certainly have no advantage over those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the archangel’s voice, and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are still alive will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and so we will always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words."
In Revelation 20:6, it is stated that those chosen for specific roles in the Kingdom will experience
"the first resurrection"....so you see that this is confirmed by Paul in 1 Thess 4:13-18. Their resurrection takes place during "the time of the end", so that when it comes time for the judgment, Jesus will bring his resurrected "brothers" with him....and those who are still on earth, will then be transformed instantly to spirit life in heaven.
But I want to draw attention to a word in that scripture, that when mistranslated will cause confusion as to the timing of these events....that word is "
coming".
In actual fact the word is "parousia" which does not mean "coming" but "presence". So if you entered a room and were waiting for someone who was "coming" and somebody told you that they were already "present", what would you assume? That they had already arrived without your knowledge...right?
When Jesus gave the sign of his "presence" in Matthew 24:3, again we see in most Bibles, the word "coming" is used instead of "presence". Why is this significant? Because Jesus "presence" as King was not something the world could see or discern except by the "signs" that he gave to his apostles to indicate that he had arrived. (Matthew 24:3-14) His coronation in heaven was unseen to human eyes, but Daniel was inspired to write about a vision that God gave him over 2,000 years before it took place. (Daniel 7:13-14)
Jesus' "coming" as judge, therefore is a completely different event....one where "every eye will see" and know that he has come as Judge of all mankind. The time period between his arrival and his judgment was when all those features of the sign he gave, would become clearly discernible....as they are now.
Only when Jesus has cleansed the earth of all wickedness, eliminating all the "goats" will the Kingdom rule be extended to all mankind. Now it rules in the hearts of Jesus disciples...but then all will come to love and serve his God and Father.....a thousand years of peace will be a welcome change for all humanity. (Revelation 21:2-4)
All of Jesus' first faithful apostles and disciples were 'anointed' (elected, chosen) ones.....the Christian Scriptures were written about them, by them, and for them.
It doesn't mean that all Christians go to heaven....only those whom God chooses.
Those not chosen for this role are not one bit envious, but happy to have those of God's choosing to rule over them. They could not be in better hands.
So that is how I see the whole arrangement.....you may see it differently.
