Hey, you cessationists, God says you have the right to express your opinion, and that spiritual gifts, or even being right, are not the most important things! I wonder what is?

To be honest, i havent run across yall pentecostals in a while. Im usually hanging out on the puritan forums, so its been a while since i seen people talking about tongues.
Perfectly put Rita. Neither do i speak in tongues and have been told i was not saved because i didn't. Doesn't Paul say "Do all speak in tongue's" No, they do not and even so, the way it's done in many church's today is NOT biblical as, their are no interpreters.

Dr. Carl Peterson, of O.R.U. in Tulsa, Ok. is a brain specialist and was doing research on the relationship between the brain and praying or speaking in tongues. Some amazing things were discovered!
Through research and testing, Dr. Peterson found that as we pray in the Spirit (our heavenly language) there is activity that begins in our brain. and that's the point I think... speaking in tongues is NOT prayer language.... That is a separate thing from the biblical speaking in tongues.
Is that not the mis-understanding?? or am I wrong??
... and this is not even talking about whether the gifts are active today.... Leave it to someone to add that layer.... LOL

As I lay on the floor of the motel room, I saw a tongue-shaped flame of fire suddenly appear above me. It quickly swerved back and forth in front of me a few times and then it flew directly into my chest! As I felt filled with power, my body started to shake!
I felt something gush up within my belly, like a geyser, until it burst out of my mouth. I was finally speaking in "tongues!" Praise God!

I do not understand this... LOL But I believe it is true because you have said it.
I think, such as us, the children of God have and share a heavenly language. I’d call it the LOTSLAG. ;) That is why, even while we have not met each other in person, we understand each other without need of an interpreter. That is because we are family and citizens of heaven.

The phrase, "heavenly language" is not used in scripture to describe the gift of tongues. The interpretation of tongues is a gift.

That’s right. Sorry about that. I was not really referring to that as tongues. So, sorry if that post seems to not really be about the topic. I don’t why I got myself making that post. It was just spontaneous as I read @Addy ’s post. Please just ignore it.
