im not sure if canada is setup like we are down south of yall, but we have a few different denominations of presbyterianism. The PCUSA has a similar view, while my denomination doesnt, yet, the PCA. And i couldnt ever imagine OPC going that way. Those guys are so regulative, they’ll argue over what color the carpet can be.
Splits and divisions happen all the time.
Baptists....all yoked together as basic Baptist believers...
And yep the division among Baptists....the split reveal a “southern Baptist” headquarters....
Catholic Churches do the same thing. Their headquarters in the Vatican City.
But yet, we see “names” on particular Catholic Church’s, that straight out tell you... which PERSON, that church has identified as a SAINT, and particular saints names on their building...John, Andrew, Mary....whomever...that individual Church building identifies with....and an expectation of WHAT will be highly exalted by the Priests teaching within the walls of that building.
Mary references...can expect within the walls of that church to have a lot of Mariology highlighted, impressed, taught and preached.
And yes, what traditions and doctrines of men are highlighted and accepted...
Break off, so that their individual churches will have congregates all in agreement of mens traditions and doctrines.
A person going into an established Mennonite Church (a sect of Anabaptists),
Expecting to be preached the same as a Baptist, a Catholic, would be disappointed.
A woman showing up in their church with spiked short hair, shorts, pants, low cut top, midriff revealed, smacking gum, propping feet on pews, would be a glaring notice, that woman was not of their congregation or respectful of their of their place of worship.
