I am sure it can serve as a witness but I have seen many people wearing crosses on their necklace but their actions were void of His love.
@Christ4Me Oh I agree.

And I indeed agree with what you say about provoking one another to brotherly love.

It's not that the symbol has some kind of magic effect; far, far from it. Instead, the truth that lies behind a witness tattoo can become a challenge to others in some circumstances. Sometimes a Christian fish symbol <>< is used instead of a cross. If someone asks, What's that? then obviously it opens up a whole possibility of testimony.

I am a nurse in a cardiac ICU. I am also pretty heavily tattooed. I am a well educated, well rounded nurse, and was raised with strong morals and manners. .. I am an extremely traditional person.

Because it's also now what so many really conservative ppl do, this would also be why many young Christians feel the door is wide open for getting witness prompting Bible verses, etc. inked in.

As I have said, it is not my cup of tea, but if they fee l a burden form god to do it-- go for it to the glory of God. Like back in the 80's, heavy metal Christian was definitely not my thing, but lots of folks in that culture were getting saved by groups like Stryper- I am not going to argue, God will decide if that was of HIm or not!

@Ronald Nolette With Stryper the tattoos are all part of the Stryper look. (Stryper also would say some hard hitting things about Isaiah 53.)

Although tattoos might not be part of what your older grandchildren are into either, they are what a lot of Christian young ppl use to express Bible verse and faith sentiment.

Like I said, that is not a bait that would lure this fish to Jesus, but I am not one to tell God what He puts on His hook to draw the people for His name.

Thanks for your 'like', @Mayflower ; I was trying to find that photo which you kindly posted, but I couldn't see it; he certainly seemed to like his ink; I guess you can up to a point empathize, right? if not to the same extent of inking, anyway.

Well I was joking, get it "pain in the neck?" Never mind. :D

It may be dependent on the person. I didn't think it hurt
@Mayflower Oh so if it didn't even hurt you likely appreciate all the more having gone through the experience of getting it.

(In some ways, women also do probably have a better pain tolerance than men, in any case, evidenced by the widespread growth of tattoo parlors' lady clientele.)
