I'm feeling a bit drained today. There are plenty of chores around the apartment and groceries to get.

Hopefully I can rally and get all this done. Then Ill take a day off. At times like this, my Christian cleaning playlist comes in handy.

I might also send hubby out of the apartment so I can focus and clean his hangout properly.

I have taken it really personally that I can't feel or hear God the way I want to. I have heard that this happens and that its normal but I don't really care. I don't like it.

And I don't really care that others don't believe we can experience God like that because I know that He still reaches out.

He's supposed to overwhelm me with His presence and take the pain away. Or at least thats how I feel.

The last thing I heard today was Him saying "Humble yourself and worship me."

How do you worship God when you are angry at Him?

But it's not about me. God is still God. He is worthy whether Im feeling good about Him or not.

I remember the times He visited me. His overwhelming love for mankind. So I do have the means to praise Him. Because He has been good to me.

I will wait on Him. I have no where else to turn to.

Feeling better today. Hubby prayed for me last night and God said to be patient and gave me a sweet promise.

I'm really grateful Hubby is so accomadating to not having unhealthy snacks in the house. I ate at 8am and just getting back from church, I know Id be eating all kinds of sweets if they were on hand.

You know how you just get so hungry, you just get desperate?

I just snacked on some blueberries so I could think enough to throw on lunch for myself. It feels good and Im grateful I don't have to struggle with tons of pantry sweets.

Basically, as long as a meal has meat in it, hubby doesn't complain. He's great.

Our offices are open now, so I dismantled my home laboratory and brought all the stuff back. My wife has her dining room back. Looks weird after 2 years not having a bunch of computers on the dining room table.
I used to run experiments in my house. Lab work is interesting.

Anyways today I'm withdrawing from cigarettes. So I'm sleeping most of the day.

My husband gave up cigarettes 10 years ago by using a vape. At first he need the highest 'hit' of nicotine but now is on the lowest.
I quit for 10 years, don't know why I started back up, well I do, but tough times then. Anyways back to sleep.

This is for my fellow church Tech Guys. I do so enjoy the Babylon Bee's satire:

Church Tech Guy Completes Historic Perfect Service | The Babylon Bee

And no, our worship service did not go perfectly. The video mixer decided to glitch out and Tech Guy forgot to change out the batteries in the wireless mics... In the words of the late, great Rosanne Rosannadanna, "It just goes to show you, it's always something. If it's not one thing, it's another...."

One thing about being Tech Guy - your job is to help the worship service go off without a hitch, both in the Sanctuary and across the internet to the shut-ins. And when I do that, I'm working. My heart is not worshipping like it should be. :(

It'd be great if you could switch out every other week with someone else.

It takes two to three of us to run the system as it is, and the third guy would prefer to sing in the choir. I just need to learn how to multitask. We men just don't do that as well as you women do. :D

I used to be part of our tech team and we each did a month of operating the overhead projector.

Fortunately, our new pastor has discontinued the use of overhead slides. That would be one more thing to worry about. We do share the words of the hymns over Zoom for the shut-ins who may not have hymnals.

Ive been listening to some music about not belonging in this world.

At times I look at this admittedly great life I have and wonder if there's more.

When we get to be with the Lord, I feel like it'll all make sense. That feeling like were on a lacking plane of existence.

After doing some reading and soul searching, I have decided that weight loss should no longer be my goal.

If I lose weight while living a healthy lifestyle, great. But I was subscribing to the myth that Id be happier if I was skinnier. It caused me in some ways to put life on hold until I lost weight.

But I want to enjoy life fully now, feel confident now, and feel worthy now. I don't need to lose weight in order to do that.

My blood pressure is really good, I move, and I eat healthy. As long as Im being healthy, Im at peace with the scale not changing as fast as I would like or even not at all.

I surrender this area to Jesus who said is not life more than food. I want that mental headspace to be free from food and weightloss obsession.

Instead, Id like to eat intuitively. That is to say, eat when Im hungry and pay attention to when Im full. No more eating windows.

While Im not sure you can be "healthy at any size" I do agree with critics of diet culture about how unhealthy the mindset is that skinny is the key to happiness.

I can remember as a kid and teenager, eating whenever I wanted, hardly thinking about food. I just wanted to eat so I could play or go live my life. I was skinny as a rail. But the point is that I ate intuitively naturally, and was healthy without any eating plan or diet.

I noticed yesterday that my favorite pants don't need a belt anymore! Lol Oh well. It was nice being thin, at least that's how I'm supposed to think about it, right?, but I don't think I'm gonna stress about it this time. I don't overeat. In fact, I think for years I didn't eat enough. I think that I'm accepting that I'm not a younger man anymore. I think I can live with that.
Learning about fibromyalgia and taking medication for it has brought noticeable improvement to my situation. So yeah, my day's going okay.
Hope yours is too, Wynona! :)
