All this original poster's intention is to try and defame Fundalmentalist Christianity, which is Reveled Christianity from The Bible.

Now just because there are 'some'... preachers that preach hellfire and damnation, and sometimes go a little overboard, that does NOT mean they are wrong with the basic concept. Lord Jesus Himself preached hellfire and damnation (Mark 16:16; John 3:18; John 8:24; John 12:47-48; Matthew 5:22; Matthew 10:28; Matthew 25:40-41; Luke 12:5).

So basically, if one does not like preachers that preach hellfire and damnation, then it means they don't like Lord Jesus preaching it either! Does that reveal a possible 'problem' with those who don't like that preaching??? YES! It reveals a hint of REBELLION against The LORD GOD and His Word of Truth.

So you like the preaching of hellfire and damnation? Really? Here's what I like: "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke on you and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and my load is not hard to carry.” Matthew 11:28-30

where does the Bible say the Bible alone? Acts 8:31
Where does it say all truths revealed by God are in scripture?
Where does it say only the 66 Protestant books are the word of God?

Where does it say anything about Mary being anything other than Jesus' mother?
Where does it say that the teachings of the RCC are in line with Scripture?
Where does it say anything about praying to Mary or "saints"?
Where does it say that Jesus is still as on the cross? (That's where the RCC depicts Him.)
Where does it say anything about a Pope? Cardinals?
Where does it say that Peter was the first Pope?
Where does it say to confess sins to a "father -- call no man "father" -- and receive absolution if you repeat a prayer to Mary over and over and over...

The RCC doctrine and practices are unScriptural, so don't "call the kettle black".

I like preachers who STAY with God's Word AS WRITTEN. It's apparent that people like you do not, otherwise you would not be sounding off against Fundamentalist preachers that do preach hellfire and damnation, which IS... a Christian Doctrine in God's Word.

I don't stay with God's Word as written? And "it's apparent that people like you do not"? Can you spell bigotry and/or intolerance? You should be ashamed of yourself (if it's possible to get beyond your false self-righteousness).

Jesus said " ‘Listen, Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ The second is:Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”

This is clearly more important than the preaching of "hellfire and damnation". You set yourself up as a judge of others but you have missed Christ!

Not if you don't like the preaching of hellfire and damnation which JESUS PREACHED.

Jeus said to love God and love our neighbor. That is the basis of His teaching. Try reading the so-called "Lord's prayer", which is repeated every Sunday in almost every church, and show me where it contains "the preaching of hellfire and damnation".

If you think that the basis of Jesus' teaching is "hellfire and damnation", you have missed the essence of what He taught. Try Matthew 11:28-30 as an example of what He taught... "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke on you and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and my load is not hard to carry.”

Your focus on "hellfire and damnation" reveals your delusion of self-righteousness and wish for punishment of other human beings.

Try meditating on this for a while. It might help alleviate your hatred of others...

John 3:16-17, "For this is the way God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world should be saved through him."

Now you're just making things up TO SUIT YOURSELF, and NOT staying in God's Word as written. Of course Jesus preached LOVE, even TOUGH LOVE! That is why He preached hellfire and damnation, because of His Love, because He does not want anyone to perish in the future "lake of fire"! (2 Peter 3:9).

But make NO MISTAKE. There WILL BE SOME THAT WILL PERISH in that future "lake of fire", and it will be just because they do not want ANY AUTHORITY OVER THEM! Satan and his children have a BIG PROBLEM WITH AUTHORITY.

And like God said...

Nah 1:8-10
8 But with an overrunning flood He will make an utter end of the place thereof, and darkness shall pursue His enemies.

9 What do ye imagine against the LORD? He will make an utter end: affliction shall not rise up the second time.

10 For while they be folden together as thorns, and while they are drunken as drunkards, they shall be devoured as stubble fully dry.

Acts 8:31 was a request by an Ethiopian for someone to guide him in understanding Isaiah. So what does that prove? Jesus said He would send the Holy Spirit to guide Christians into all truth. That's as straightforward as it gets. No Pope, Cardinals, Bishops, "fathers" are necessary. Each person should have a personal relationship with God, their father (abba). Intermediaries are not necessary!

John 17:14-17, "I have given them your word, and the world has hated them, because they do not belong to the world, just as I do not belong to the world. I am not asking you to take them out of the world, but that you keep them safe from the evil one. They do not belong to the world just as I do not belong to the world. Set them apart in the truth; your word is truth. "

Where does it say that the apocrypha are the word of God?

where does it say the word of God is limited to scripture?

you are the arbiter of truth not Christ and his church!

Your statement that "The holy church does not require scripture to know the truth cos the church received the “deposit of faith” " says it all. No wonder the RCC is so screwed up! Discard the truth of the Bible and you end up with all kinds of weird, false "knowledge", i.e., lies. The RCC is the epitome of false doctrine and teaching.

the church wrote the Bible!
The church exercised authority of Christ before the New Testament!
The church taught the truth before the first word of scripture was penned!

You statement that "How did the church for almost four centuries live without the “Bible alone”? is bizarre. The "books" of the Bible existed from the time of the early Hebrews through the time of the New Testament and beyond. What is the matter with you??

not canonized until 381

I answered all these from scripture
Here’s one just for now, apostles forgive sin Jn 20:21-23

call no man father Jn 4:20

20 Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.

Why does Jesus not rebuke her for calling men father?

Are you joking? You don't see the difference between "call no man father" and "Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, and you people say that the place where people must worship is in Jerusalem.” In my Bible the word "father" appears 1,142 times! The words "call no man father" is a command to not use the title describing God toward humans. Matthew 23:9, "And call no one your ‘father’ on earth, for you have one Father, who is in heaven."

So what! The "books" of the Bible existed for thousands of years before the approval of the pope and the church. All they did was agree on what was in the canon of Scripture, and others disagreed with their selection.

Are you really so misinformed? It is ridiculous to say that "the church wrote the Bible" and "the church taught the truth before the first word of scripture was penned". As I have said over and over, which you refuse to accept, the "books" of the Bible existed long before the church existed. Get your facts straight!

Saying that the church exercised [the] authority of Christ before the New Testament is true, but "the church" doesn't mean the Catholic denomination. As I have written over and over, the word "Catholic" doesn't appear anywhere in Scripture. It is a man-made, unScriptural adjective. A better case can be made for the Orthodox denomination being first.

it does say catholic in Jn 3:16 Jn 1:29
Lk 2:10-11

Only one church no denominations Jn 10:16

Luke 2:10-11, "But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid! Listen carefully, for I proclaim to you good news that brings great joy to all the people: Today your Savior is born in the city of David. He is Christ the Lord."

John 1:29, "On the next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!"

John 3:16, "For this is the way God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life."

"Catholic" is not mentioned in any of these verses.

John 10:16, " I have other sheep that do not come from this sheepfold. I must bring them too, and they will listen to my voice, so that there will be one flock and one shepherd."

Correct, no denominations. There is one body of Christ: His church. Not the Catholic denomination, not Eastern Orthodox, not Protestant, etc. Once again, there is no mention of the Catholic denomination in the Bible.

Your description shows that you live in the US. Why is your English so poor?

What on Earth does this mean? "It’s a there all universal catholic".

All = universal
World = universal
And the Greek for universal is the word catholic
