There was a big Baptist rally in Leicester town hall squre some years ago, and they were handing out leaflets to we popcorn-munching bystanders, so I said to a couple of them "I love Jesus but I haven't been baptised, so will I be going to hell?"
They seemed unable or unwilling to give a straight answer, so they went and got their Big Boss to come over and talk to me.
I asked him exactly the same question and he replied with a smile "No, you won't be going to hell"..:)

Paul was asking them if they had received the baptism of the Holy Ghost accompanied with speaking in other tongues.

They said they didn't even know there was a Holy Spirit, then told Paul they were baptized by John the Baptist.

Then Paul knew that they did not understand salvation. He tells them of Jesus, that John's baptism was unto repentance in Christ.

When they understood this they accepted Christ. Then Paul had them water baptized and then laid his hands on them and they received the baptism of the Holy Spirit with evidence of speaking in other tongues.

You skipped this completely, like a very naughty Acts skipper...

John , as made clear here, baptized those that BELIEVED in the Jesus that would come later and KNEW that they were Sinners that needed this Savior to come (unlike the Pharisees that thought they were “ good enough” and needed no baptism, ) When Jesus actually DID come later These guys did what they “ SHOULD” do.....They Believed in the Jesus That Died for their sins and rose from the Grave —Now That they believed in the REAl Jesus That had arrived and what He accomplished at the Cross , as opposed to the one they were merely looking forward to, they were ready to get water baptized —— done as a public testimony showing on the outside what had now taken place on the inside....

Immersion in water does nothing to Save a person in and of itself if that person is not ALREADY a Saved Believer....The Great Evangelist Oliver Greene tells the Tale Of how HE got water Baptized because he thought it would help him to get into some girls pants! He was not a Christian and did not BECOME a Christian because he got Baptized.....It is the FAITH IN JESUS That *Prompts* the Baptismal Act That Saves—- NOT that Act with a lack of Faith in Jesus....

As I mentioned earlier...Even Hitler got baptized ....you think he us in heaven today?

I am not saying the Acts skippers will be going to hell, just that they will not be part of the first resurrection.

They still have a chance to be judged according to their works as compared to the Law of God per Rev 20 at the white throne judgement.

They can try pleading insanity for skipping Acts 2:38 for a defense there.

The RCC does not baptize per Acts 2:38, Peter, the 3000 at Pentecost and the rest of the book of Acts.

They sprinkle infants without saying the name of Jesus.

The RCC is only getting babies furious.

Paul’s Gospel says that By Simply BELIEVING That Jesus Died for your Sins and rose from the Grave , you will be Saved....

I believe that “ your” so - called “gospel” is just a tad DIFFERENT , isn’t it? Your gospel declares that water baptism is How one gets Saved.....

The True Gospel is all about what God has done for Lost, Helpless Man—- not what a man does for God....

Who said that Paul “ did away with it?” It sure wasn’t me..... i’m A big fan of it, as long as the one that is “ Receiving” the Baptism does not get confused and think that is how he gets Saved ....it’s one’s Faith in the Shed Blood Of Jesus Plus NOTHING that gets a man Saved( i.e. The Gospel Found In 1 Cor 15:1-4 )...... Baptism is a Rite in the same sense that Communion is a Rite....Both are great things....Both are things that God WANTS us to do.....it’s just that NEITHER ONE is a Part Of the “ Recipe” for Salvation, for THAT “ recipe” has Two Parts, and neither one is Water Baptism——-#1 The Shed Blood Of Jesus #2 Ones TOTAL FAITH in #1.........
