Much of what is written and created is mostly done in parable, i.e., as an "image", or is "like", etc...a cosmic explanation or manifestation of what is otherwise unseen to mortal mankind, because we too are made in image form. In a manner of speaking, God has drawn us many pictures...for we are but children, that is until or unless we mature.Do Old Testament type and figure that are fulfilled in the new give deeper biblical insight?

Yes.
And it's a shame the church discarded them as worthless, even sinful, to recognize. I mean what better time and way to celebrate Christ our Passover Lamb than...oh, I don't know...Passover, maybe?
No, I accept and pursue that which God directs. Should we do otherwise?Do you have a fave?
Why did the Catholics decide that it was not fitting to partake of the Passover elements, the bread and the wine, on the actual Passover date?We celebrate the new covenant Passover sacrifice everyday!
The same way the Jews did in the dispersion. How are you going to do so with no temple?
No ark of the covenant!
No ministerial priesthood!
No sacrifice!
No altar!
No golden censor with sweet smelling incense!

"...not as I will, but as thou wilt." Matt 26:39
What is God's will for us? Does He not know? Will He not correctly lead us if we surrender ourselves continuously to Him?
And what of any fulfilled in us? Could they not also be fascinating? The types found in exodus 12 and fulfilled in the passion of Christ are fascinating
hyssop for example:

No it's not. It's only a denial of Christ if you make it a denial of Christ.we don’t celebrate old covenant feasts but the new covenant feast in the body and blood of Christ!
the old pointed to Christ and to keep them would be a denial of his first coming as the Jews do!
They have not done so according to the letter of the law. They are unable to do that. But I assure you the Jews operate according to the Mosaic festival schedule not your gentile/pagan inventions. They have not done so since 70 ad and you have never done so!

The Catholic church decided that any and all observances of the Mosaic festivals was categorically without exception and for any reason sin. Not realizing the bread and wine they serve are elements of the Passover feast. This ignorance of the law was carried into the non-Catholic churches and remains to this day. It's only a sin to keep the festivals and sabbaths if you are doing that with the express purpose of being justified by those observances. Paul's example shows us, clearly, that it is not categorically for all reasons a sin to keep the Mosaic festival observances. But the Catholic church does not understand this and out of their anti-Semitism and ignorance of the law they literally outlawed the observances and replaced them with pagan festivals attractive to the masses.
