It is not a matter of salvation so I`m not concerned with it.
Hi @Marilyn C

It's interesting that all the young ppl with Bible verses tattooed with whom I have talked have seemingly had them done for witness tool reasons.

I guess, like, in a world so indifferent to faith, it's a means which they relish to make their salvation known.

that was part of being in the military. Got to get your tattoo if you're a real man.
@Heart2Soul I think that you would empathize at least in theory with the way young men in the military develop a rather deep urge to receive a tattoo.

More than most ppl, also, you would probably be able to understand what it is among some quite heavily tattooed demographics these days such as nurses that makes them want to get tattooed.

(So, particularly opportune if the designs chosen reflect faith based topics....)

Yes, but his are not faith-based. Relevant to this thread, several of his tattoos he designed himself, but paid a professional artist to apply.
@Lambano Well, sounds anyway like he - as has his mother - has thoroughly taken to getting tattooed.

I reckon both he and his mother would regard rather positively the tattoo artist profession, anyway, right?

I see Christians justifying tattoos as no different than when Christians justify porn as being okay with God.
Both are sins and they should be repented of. But today, we are living the last days and men have a form of godliness but they deny the power thereof. Believers are not really interested in denying themselves and following Jesus. They want Jesus to fit their way or the Burger King way, and not the King of Kings way.

Lets put it to you this way: My son would know those verses by heart on how God condemns tattoos (Which was of the pagans). So the chances of my son getting mixed up in the darkness of tattoos would be very slim (Especially if I re-enforced the darkness of tattoos). If by some odd chance that happened, I would just quote them the Scriptures that they know (but ignore). I would tell them I love them as a son, but I hate their sin, and I would seek for opportunities in telling them the dark side of tattoos (That many love to ignore). Also, if they are a tattoo artist, they will draw whatever the customer wants. This could be anything from nude women, to the devil.

I gotta chuckle at that, because my stepson actually got his first tattoo years before my wife got hers. My wife only started getting inked up (and pierced) to celebrate surviving breast cancer.

While my stepson does have some experience designing (his own) tattoos from scratch, his learning disabilities and lack of people skills preclude him from being a good tattoo artist. But if it had health insurance and paid better than sacking groceries part time, I'd be all for it.

Hi @GodsGrace So did your visiting friend ever tell you about how she finally felt "ready" for her tattoo...?
Wow. How could you remember this? I totally forgot.
Anyway, she's coming over with her mom and brother so they couldn't make it in July.
They'll be here on November 5th. If you write on about the 10, I'll let you know what she said.
It'll have to do with her father's death, pretty sure.

Also, I see that some women are getting their lips tatood.
It looks nice and very modest in nature.
As you know, I worry too much.

BTW, I got your message on the account but not sure how to use it.
Thanks!

Hi @shortangel FYI: We were talking about Reformation Day; nice to see how this lady shows real confidence in the blessings of the Reformation! :)

The thing is that we are also justified by works and not by faith alone according to James 2:24. We are also saved by abiding in the Holy Spirit, as well. For the Spirit is our downpayment of our inheritance. No inheritance means no salvation. So it’s not just Christ alone. Sola Scriptura should actually be called… Bible Alone + the Anointing to Understand It. It’s also not grace alone because 2 Thessalonians 2:13 says God has chosen you to salvation through the Sanctification of the Spirit and a belief of the truth. Read Galatians 6:8-9. Sowing to the Spirit will lead to reaping everlasting life. This sowing to the Spirit is welling doing (or good works). We will reap if we faint not. Also see Romans 8:13. So if they actually believed their Bible they would have to remove this tattoo because it speaks against the faith or God’s Holy Word. Yeah, but who really cares about what the Bible says, right? The Bible condemns tattoos. Who cares, right? Just keep doing things against God’s Holy Word.

I used to try and reason with the Scriptures involving Christians who did not think porn was a sin. This thread is no different in that it is promoting sin and one is not seeing how it is wrong. The Old Testament condemned tattoos clearly because they were something done by pagan nations. Not sure how this was undone in the New Testament. Tattooing defiles the temple of God. Would you put graffiti on a church building? Then why would you do that with the temple of the Holy Spirit? It’s not right. Stop promoting the sin of tattoos. It’s wrong. God is calling you (in love) to repent of this sin. Let go of the ways of the world, and just follow Jesus alone in what His Word says alone. Don’t try to add to His Word.

There are people who look like demons because they covered every area of their body with tattoos. There is no flesh to show but only ink. Even their eyes they have changed to look black and they altered their tongue to also look demonic. They look like something out of a horror movie. Stop doing tattoos. It’s evil. People who draw tattoos will draw nude women, fornication, symbols of drunkenness, the devil, etcetera. Tattoos artists are to accept all customers. They are to draw pagan symbols like pyramids, and upside down crosses, etcetera. Tattoos are sin. Stop promoting the sin of tattoos. Follow Jesus Christ and His Word alone in what it says. If His Word even remotely appears to condemn something… why do it? It doesn’t make sense.
