Devin, in conversation with your fellow Americans, I believe that we Aussies are in exactly the same situation as your nation is....our forebears stole land from the indigenous people too, and also with much bloodshed and subjugation.

TBH, I don’t find that something to be proud of.....especially in view of where the indigenous people find themselves today in their own lands, or in lands that they were forced to inhabit due to captivity and slavery.
The Spanish conquistadors also shed blood and forced ‘conversion’ on their conquered people at the point of a sword. You cannot for one moment see Christ in any of their activities....can you?

IMO, Australia has gone a bit overboard in its promotion of the “sorry” agenda, which should have buried the atrocities of the past whilst trying to promote the fact that all are equal citizens of the same nation. No matter what color or heritage we claim, no descendants of the conquerors should see themselves as superior and the indigenous people as inferior, yet that legacy of the past remains.

Hatred for blacks and whites still festers under the surface, mainly because of socio-economic reasons.....the deep seated resentment remains and we can understand why. The whites treated the blacks here as inferior and many have grown up in very inferior circumstances, limiting education and training for a place in the modern world. Areas with high indigenous populations are often dangerous places to live.
Yet, we all bleed the same color.

I have to agree with @I.O.U in some of the things he mentioned. No nation on earth with the record for bloodshed and the development of heinous weaponry that the US and her allies (including Australia) have amassed over the last century, can ever claim to be a “Christian” nation.....it seems as if Christ’s teachings fell on deaf ears if any nation who claims to be “Christian” can shed blood on that scale...and without a drop of that blood in two World Wars being shed on their own soil. (Isaiah 1:15)

When you step back and look at the world from God’s perspective, he is not fooled by the propaganda that is fed to the citizens of various nations to solicit support for their unchristian activities.
When it comes to patriotism, many countries put their own nation’s interests ahead of their Christian duty to obey the one they claim is their King. (Matthew 5:43-44)
Which is the only nation on earth that has actually dropped nuclear bombs on innocent people?

If 1 John 5:19 tells us that “the whole world lies in the power of the wicked one”...what part of the “whole world” is the devil not controlling? If we can see through the propaganda, it will never result in us breaking God’s law to promote the interests of nations who hide what they are doing behind the scenes. Propaganda is an ancient weapon but it still feeds the populations of modern nations who have the means to present themselves as “angels of light”, when in reality they are just puppets in the hands of the god of this world. (2 Corinthians 4:3-4)

We are staring down the barrel of the greatest tribulation in the history of the world (Matthew 24:21).....so, who is prepared for what the Bible tells us is looming in this "time of the end"? Do we understand what is happening and why we need to warn others about what is going to take place?

What do you see as the future Devin? Who do you believe?
What are those "Some thing's"

Eve had to believe what the serpent told her over believing what the Lord God told Adam. How could Eve know it wasn't actually a good idea to take the fruit from the tree of knowledge of Good or Evil when she didn't have that knowledge before hand?

I see you're in Oz mate, so if you and your mates feel sorry for the aborigines you can always stop squatting on their land and give the country back to them..;)

How can someone genuinely help someone else if the help they give originates from what they already believe is best for that person? I can't understand how anyone can help me in my situation unless they actually know me and my needs, which follows that they drop their own designs for my life and understand who I am.
I am trying to help people who are at the hospital on mental holds. I understand what some of them are going through because I have suffered from depression myself. Still some people refuse to be helped.

The fact that there is no hell....and that Jesus was Jewish and the Jews did not believe in hell.
"Sheol" was simply the grave.

Also gaining knowledge verses absorbing it....knowledge without the wisdom to implement it is pointless.

And the fact that it's a contradiction to claim America was ever God's country since it was founded counter to what the Gospel of the Christ taught.
In a world ruled by God's adversary, (1 John 5:19) we have to understand that there is no such thing as a "Christian" nation.....right? :Broadly:

I did some background research on the history behind Sheol. I found that Hinnom valley is where all this hell and fire punishment started from.

Yes people in that state often hallucinate and have become paranoid from not taking their meds. I know because I am a medicated schizophrenic that has recovered from the paranoia and hallucinations generally. I still have break thru episodes of hallucinations but I have meds for that. They can become aggressive and potentially dangerous and have to be dealt with cautiously. And it's no different when dealing with the homeless, only you get a mix of criminals and mentally ill in the homeless. There are some decent homeless, and I try to only approach them. People that are normal that have had unfortunate circumstances hit them in life.

That's a problem I have; with people reaching out to others on the basis of an order. If there was only another way

I didn't really care about others before I was converted--if it didn't interfere with my time and I was able to, I would help. I would do this because it made me look good and I felt good about it. Jesus came to call sinners to repentance, not the righteous, and as you can see I definitely was not a very "good" person.

Now when I help others it is because I genuinely care about their needs because Jesus gave me a heart to actually love--to see that all people are made in the image of God. I understand that to some the Good News will be a odor unto death and not to life. Still I will help them, as long as helping them does not go against God's commandments. If it does, then helping them will be placing them above God and God is first in my life. If their plan for their life goes against what God has revealed as the way we should live, then I will help them with other things but not to advance this plan that is contrary to God's revealed will.

If it weren't for helping people on order there would be no people on disability or state aid for the poor. What you're stating does not make sense in the real world.

I think what he may be saying, devin, is that he would like to see people help others because they want to not because God commanded them to so that they're doing it out of a sense of like they have to but if it wasn't given as a commandment by God they wouldn't help anyone. That is what I got from it at least. That really isn't what a Christian does, however. Because God has removed the heart of stone and given a believer a heart of flesh, they should be helping others out of a sense of compassion and love for them, not out of a sense of duty.

I mean, I would hope that believers would at least help others out of that sense of duty, but that's not really what God wants of us: it's us giving Him lip service and not truly loving Him. Like if we're serving in a soup kitchen and in our minds we're like, "I have to be at this stupid place because God told me I have to, otherwise I'd be home doing my own thing". Well, I'm glad at least they're there helping others, but they aren't really serving God in that way, just giving Him lip service. The actions do not meet the heart's intentions.

Yes there's that. But there's no real church help for the poor that's going to really render any serious help. People are left to the government for that. And we need to be realistic. The governments have found that disabled and poor have rights like the rich. And the rich are obligated to help, which is why tax money goes to help the poor and disabled.

Christians can help for whatever reason they do. But that's not going to pay the bills.

But I guess that is the penalty for beliving my life away.

Nevertheless, Immediately after Article VII, the US Constitution closes with the following words about the "year of our Lord"-
"Done in Convention by the Unanimous Consent of the States present the Seventeenth Day of September in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Eighty seven..."

No. They just steal land, murder native inhabitants and drop nuclear bomb's.
That reveals an unsurprising ignorance as to what a Christian is. I don't mean that as offensive, but the perception of the world toward Christianity and those who claim that title is founded on the great counterfeit that makes the news... Not the real deal that works quietly without fanfare.

Mind you, it's a contradiction to claim America was ever God's country since it was founded counter what the Gospel of the Christ put forward.
Not quite accurate. History reveals a geopolitical and religious fulfillment of Christ's parable about the wheat and the tares. There was much genuine wheat, real Christians escaping persecution and political tyranny in the form of church state union on many levels, seeking a new land in which to practise their faith without papal or political oversight. Among them were tares. Greedy land developers, thieves and murderers you spoke of. Same as took place here in Australia, and in NZ. In time, the tares far outnumbered the wheat. Some managed to infiltrate government, but there were some very good astute individuals in the US particularly that created a constitution and bill of rights intended as a hedge of protection around religious and political freedom. Sure, it didn't always work, and many suffered. Today however is a different story. And I fear for the future for America... And here. A new church state union is forming... An image to medieval papal oppression that will become global. Then we are all in trouble.
