What @Marymog could NOT answer, was WHAT “works”...
She referenced James teaching without knowing “WHAT” works.

There ARE umpteen ‘works’ a “man Baptized with the Holy Spirit”....
CAN DO to glorify God...and a Holy Spirit Baptized man...WHO does such umpteen “works” SHALL receive “REWARDS” from God.

The “ONE” Works That IS Required, BEFORE a Holy Spirit Baptism is given a man...........IS BELIEF in the Lord God.

Faith is a GIFT,
Faith is a GIFT from God.
REWARDS are from God.
REWARDS are not GIFTS.

*** A WORK of A man, is BELIEF.
*** A SERVICE of A man, is CONFESSING HIS heartful BELIEF.

James was revealing.......the ONE “WORKS” according to what JESUS revealed.

John 6:
[28] Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?
[29] Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

People all the time “talk about WORKS”, as IF there is some Long required list of DOING this and that. NOT SO.

BELIEF is the WORKS a man MUST DO, to be Holy Spirit Baptized.
Any other “works” a man DOES, that glorifies God, the man receives REWARDS.

Glory to God,

First of all - the Catholic Church (Not "RCC") is not a mere "denomination" like the Protestant sects.

It is the Original Tree from which Protestantism splintered- and continues to splinter to the tune of tens of thousands of disjointed and perpetually-splintering factions that ALL teach different doctrines based on the personal interpretations of their HUMAN founders.

That is the irrefutable truth . . .
The Original Tree NEVER is the RCC and NEVER will be.

But go ahead and lets see what you come up with in scripture.

I didn't say that Jesus sounded like an idiot.

Sure you did....then you tried to make that my thoughts.
Nothing new, same old mode of operation, trying to MAKE your thoughts, your spoken words accountable to someone else.

I said that YOU make Him sound like one with your perversion of John 3:5.
BIG difference . . .

The difference is, you can not STOP thinking yourself qualified to think and speak for others.

No one is fooled by your quirky mode of operation.

AND anyone can do those WORKS. A man that gives God the glory (credit) for being ABLE to do WORKS, (that Glorify God) have stored up IN Heaven Treasures, and shall BE Rewarded.

Those are NOT the WORK unto Salvation.
The WORK unto Salvation IS........BELIEF in the Lord God.
The SERVICE unto Salvation IS....Heartful CONFESSED Belief in the Lord God.

You gave accurate and true scriptures - Amen

They do not speak of nor describe the RCC or any other denomination on earth.
Yes, BofL post #112 certainly describes the CC. The notion that evil would prevail in the Church is a man made tradition, a denial of Jesus' plain promises that that could never happen. Evil has attacked the Church from within and from without, but evil has never prevailed, contrary to the psychotic made-in-America Bible clubs that evil has dominated the Church. One either accepts what the Bible says about God's promises to protect the Church from error, or you don't believe the Bible. I think that's the point BofL made that went over your head.

CATHOLIC: It comes from the Greek word Kata-holos which was later Latinized into Catholicus, "Catholic" in English.

It means 'Universal', which in itself means, 'of or relating to, or affecting the entire world and ALL peoples therein'. It means, ALL encompassing, comprehensibly broad, general, and containing ALL that is neccessary. In summation, it means ALL people in ALL places, having ALL that is necessary, and for ALL time.

1677547794239.png

In Matthew 28:19-20, "Go, therefore and make disciples of ALL nations...teaching them to observe ALL that I have commanded you; And behold, I am with you ALL days, even unto the consummation of the world."

That is a statement of Universality, Katholicos, Catholicus, Catholic. It is also a statement of indefectibility.

.and you belong to that Church whose faith St. Paul describes as being "proclaimed (KATAnggeletai) in the whole universe (en HOLO to kosmo)” (Rom. 1:8)

Thus the word KATA-HOLOS or Catholic in English originated from Scriptures - Romans 1:8. And again:

"So the church throughout all Judea and Galilee and Sama'ria had peace and was built up; and walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit it was multiplied." [Acts 9:31 RSV]

There the words "church throughout all" is translated from the Greek words "Ecclesia kata holis" This proves Paul was a Catholic. But it was after Ignatius that the term Catholic Church became used more and more to designate the true church.

"Where the Bishop appears, there let the people be, just as where Jesus Christ is, there is the Catholic Church."
St. Ignatius of Antioch's letter to the Smyrneans, paragraph 8, of 106 A.D.

Here is what Church Fathers had to say, in every case the word "Catholic” is used. Notice the dates, as they span over a century before Constantine. "The Faith of the Early Fathers", by [Protestant] William A. Jurgens.

Ignatius, Letter to the Smyrneans 106AD;
Martyrdom of St. Polycarp 155AD;
Clement of Alexandria, Stromateis 202AD;
Cyprian, Unity of the Catholic Church 251AD;
Cyprian, Letter to Florentius, 254AD

and later:

"Christian is my name, and Catholic my surname. The one designates me, while the other makes me specific. Thus am I attested and set apart... When we are called Catholics it is by this appellation that our people are kept apart from any heretical name."
Saint Pacian of Barcelona, Letter to Sympronian, 375 A.D.

That quote doesn't apply to Protestants because Protestantism didn't exist in 375 A.D. Back then, one was either a Christian Catholic or a heretic. The claim that "Catholic" is not in the Bible is biblically, historically, and linguistically false.

Rom 10:
[9] That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Are babies (of Catholic Parents) “confessing with their mouth the Lord Jesus”? Are those babies, believing in their heart, the Lord Jesus?

Does being a Catholic Parent of an infant mean the Parent is psychic to know what the infant believes in their heart? To know what the infant is saying without speaking?
Show him what phillip told the eunach . THEY saw water . And the eunach asked a wonderful question .
What does HINDER ME from being baptized . THIS . IF YOU BELIEVE IN THE LORD JESUS with all your heart , YOU MAY BE .
NO FAITH , NO BELIEF IN JESUS , and aWWWLLLL is but the vainity of the winds of men gone wrong .

Said the clueless one who belongs to one of the many THOUSANDS of man-made splinter-sects that ALL stem from the 16th century, when your Protestant Fathers splintered from the original CATHOLIC Church . . .

LOL...yet again some foolish people are determined to prove their foolishness trying to think and speak lies, as if it apply to others.

I don’t BELONG to any man-made church.
I don’t HAVE any Protestant fathers.

Don’t be coy, the Catholics Gentiles were in line right behind the Jews in their own “splintering” efforts.

Belief IN the Lord God Almighty IS the Head and Foundational Rock upon which Christ Jesus’ Church was Established and being Built.

Membership IN Christ Jesus’ Church was OFFERED to men of the whole world, but does not APPLY to men of the Whole World.

Catholic means UNIVERSE.

Not once did Christ Jesus say He was BUILDING His Church IN Heavens, Cosmos.

“Christian is my name, and Catholic my surname”....

And? Did he sign his letter “Christian Catholic” ?
And? Shall umpteen million people be in Lambs book of life NAMED:
Christian Catholic?

SILLY STUFF, when Scripture is clear, It is the Lords SANCTIFICATION which sets men WITH God, Apart from men WITHOUT God.

Oh yes! All but your twisted interpretations of F, G, & H that you use to beat Catholics with. They've been refuted a million times. Your reply has NOTHING to do with my post you quoted, which tells me you're stumped on post #125. Sadly, sometime later you will make the same error and say "Catholic" is not in the Bible because you are too proud to be corrected. That's why your reply is pathetically off the topic you quoted. If you're stumped the smart thing to do is not reply at all, instead of pretending to follow a discussion.

The educated eunuch didn't understand what he was reading. He needed Philip, one in authority, to explain it. The Catholic approach to the Bible is no different. Philip "opened his mouth", he did not read from the NT. This proves the oral preaching of the Apostles comes from the same source as the written Word, it carries the same divine stamp and did not mysteriously disappear.

"Bible alone" theory is like going to a baseball game and the chaos that follows when all the players become umpires.

Which church—that is, which denomination of Christianity—is the “true church”? Which church is the one that God loves and cherishes and died for? Which church is His bride?

The answer is that no visible church or denomination is the true church, because the bride of Christ is not an institution, but is instead a spiritual entity made up of those who have by grace through faith been brought into a close, intimate relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Those people, no matter which building, denomination, or country they happen to be in, constitute the true church.

It seems the topic of this thread is mislabeled eh?
Should rather read: What (or which) is the one true "denomination.'
The One True Church are those of us "Called OUT of the World!"
And Why were us gentiles who are of no people called out of the world?

Romans 10:
17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

18 But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world.

19 But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy by them that are no people, and by a foolish nation I will anger you.

20 But Esaias is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me.

21 But to Israel he saith, All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.

The questions every "splinter" group aka denomination must ask of themselves is: "Is that which we are doing provoking Israel to jealousy?"

"Are we truly turning Israel to Jesus Christ of Nazareth to whom they rejected?"

And finally:
"Just HOW are we as gentiles SUPPOSED to accomplish such a seemingly impossible task?"

For these days are coming! For some? They have come already!

Isaiah 28:

5 In that day shall the Lord of hosts be for a crown of glory, and for a diadem of beauty, unto the residue of his people,

9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.

13 But the word of the Lord was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.

15 Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves:

17 Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place.

18 And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it.

19 From the time that it goeth forth it shall take you: for morning by morning shall it pass over, by day and by night: and it shall be a vexation only to understand the report.

20 For the bed is shorter than that a man can stretch himself on it: and the covering narrower than that he can wrap himself in it.

21 For the Lord shall rise up as in mount Perazim, he shall be wroth as in the valley of Gibeon, that he may do his work, his strange work; and bring to pass his act, his strange act.

29 This also cometh forth from the Lord of hosts, which is wonderful in counsel, and excellent in working.

What is being described here in verse 18 and following is what the next earth and heaven age will be like.

It is also the definition of the First resurrection.

Revelation 20:
5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

What's strange in verse 21 of Isaiah 28 (above) is that this act being described is and has and shall be ascribed to those with (how can I say) weightier measures of faith?

Which causes me to think verses 5 and 6 in Revelation 20 have been switched around.

For how could there be Priests of God and Priests of Christ reigning with Christ before the "Millennia?"

Unless they are being prepped during this current "Age/Dispensation of Grace?"

(all Biblical references are from the KJV)

The catholic approach to the bible is to twist areas of it to support their worship and prayers of saints , mary and bowing
before idols . I have seen that church twist the bible every bit as have others .
ER bit as much . And now you have a man that is neither catholic nor christain leading you all. Yet
Cause he sits in the so called seat of peter , you just keep on following it .
That is how folks CONTROL folks . The popes never sat in the seat of peter and
this one dont even sit in the seat of catholicism either . But try telling that to the CC or to the protestant realm .
IT seems both camps are hungry for his lies for world peace and safety .

This is a good place to start your search for Truth: Acts

“However, the Most High does not dwell in temples made with hands, as the prophet says:
‘Heaven is My throne,
And earth is My footstool.
What house will you build for Me? says the Lord,
Or what is the place of My rest?
Has My hand not made all these things?’
David,

I am simply pointing out your LIE on what The Church teaches. You can quote Scripture all day long. It doesn't' change the fact that you are lying and have failed to apologize for it.

Glory to God,
Taken
Faith without works is dead.

Speaking a lie is in violation of the Commandment - "thou shall not lie"

i follow the Risen Savior = Jesus the Christ and no lie has ever come out of His Mouth, therefore i trust HIM at His word.

The question is = do you?

The second question is = will you? will you completely trust the Loving Savior on His words and His alone?

This leads to the 3rd question = will you listen to the Word = Today, if you hear His Voice, harden not your heart

Notice = only saying 'yes Lord' to all 3 questions will lead you to Salvation where all your sins are washed away
