they are not those tryign to get in by their works.. That would put us under law not grace
Regarding grace, Christ came with grace and truth for us, to save us.

By the obedience of the Son ( to the Father) we are saved from sin, from the sin and disobedience of the one who put us all under sin.

So grace is not the example of Adam to follow, ( disobedience) grace is the example of Christ to follow. ( the obedience of His faith Romans 16:26)

Acts 15:11 But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.

Romans 5:19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
20 Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:
21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

After the Word is received meekly.

We are to be doers of the Word. ( Jesus Christ is the doer of the Word, even until His death AND resurrection.)

We deceive our own selves if we do not believe we follow by remembering what Christ has shown to the world. We then continue in His perfect law of liberty, which He makes sure we do not forget, that this is the way Christ was blessed in His deed for us. ( we believe in HIs grace to die for us, so we die the same way and rise up with Him to righteousness. and true holiness. Ephesians 4:24.)

We cant seem religious, we deceive our own heart, our religion is vain.

It cannot be vain, it has to be pure religion and undefiled before God,( which is also before man, as we see the testimony of Christ, He was manifest in the flesh.) to visit those in affliction and to keep ourselves ( keep ourselves in the love of God) unspotted from the world.

1 Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

James 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.
27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

Other verse testifying how to receive Christ ( the Word) meekly to save our souls.

Matthew 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

Philippians 2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

James 1:21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
A breath of fresh air here you are brother... :)

You see all the religiosity here...the posturing....the adding sin to sin.

God knows the way of a man. With the merciful He is merciful, with the innocent, He is innocent, with the meek He is meek, but with the crafty He is crafty. He turns our ways back onto us.

But jesus said it over and over.

In john 3 he said it when he told us how to be born again

In john 4 he said it to the woman at the well. If we ask in faith, he will give us living water flowing to eternal life

In john 5 he said he who hears my words and believes (has faith) will not die. But has eternal life. He has passed from life to death, and will NOT come to judgement

In John 6, he said seek for the food which does not perish. Whoever eats will never hunger or thirst. Will live forever. Will never die, will be ressurected. And again has eternal life.

All the way in John 1. John says but as many as has recieved him to THEM he gave th e power to become sons of God.

Jesus can’t contradict himself. Yes he said other things. But we have to interpret all he said to make them in agreement, not contradictory. Thats how the word interprets itself
Yes, He can’t contradict Himself. But we can not understand. It’s the same old, same old to have one man say, but look at all these verses, so I am right, and another man to say, yes, but I have all THESE verses, so you are wrong. How does either of those men know that he is not using his human understanding when he was told not to do so?

Your verses don’t cancel out many other verses and parables. And mercy And judgement are two of the three weightiest matters of the law. How do we know if one is slightly more weighty? How do we know they aren’t equally important or that mercy is more important to God? So to argue two of the three weightiest matters of law AGAINST each other is a fools errand. A shrewd man who knows how to protect his own interests would walk away from that (might even run) and say, well, we aren’t to Judge those outside and this Fellow tells me I must repeat after him a statement that causes me to DO just that so I’m not going to listen to that fellow. I can’t answer that because I might perjure myself is an option Too.
And if the man had some humility in addition to shrewdness concerning his own interests, he would say, I’m not going to concern myself with a matter too big for me And God has said He will do the judging. I find nowhere in scripture where it says EG is to do the judging.

Is it not you who are justifying yourself?
It’s the opposite. He said earlier to a question from you that he would then hope to be counted among the righteous. Your response to that was, I find that terrifying!

I wanted to answer your whole post but I thought this was most important. You find letting God be your judge to be terrifying. And if you didn’t have such awful leaven of men that you swallowed, you would be able to move from that terror to a HEALTHY fear of God.

As succinctly as I can put it, here is how the vicious cycle goes:
1. A man tells you you must say something that judges others. As proof that you must, he presents doctrine A.
2. In order to be true to doctrine A, you don’t do what God said for you to do.
3. Not doing what God said for you to do produces terror in you. (Which it should, because don’t judge those outside is pretty clear and easy enough for you but you didn’t do it and instead did what a man told you to do.)

So you got yoked all over again. It should make you angry enough that you tear up all those doctrines and kick over all those men’s chairs, rip their pants down, pull out their beards and start all over.

Great advice...but way too wise for most here. Great analogies and sound judgment. :)

We do not love 100% of the time. We still have that flesh we war with. and need to take care of self. so that why we can't keep the law as required
You are frightened of the giants in the land (your flesh) so you draw back. You forget that with men it is impossible but with God all things are possible.

Since I have never justified the flesh and sin you are also a SHAMELESS LIAR. And since you are blind to Gospel truth, it is "psycho-babble" to you. But to genuine Christians it is God's truth.
"Jews say,'Christians have nothing to stand on,' and the Christians say, 'The Jews have nothing to stand on,' although they both recite the Scripture. Thus do those who know not speak the same as their words." (Qur'an 2.113)

What gospel truth?
What LAW?

Nobody knows. Nobody gives a damn about God. Everybody justifies their own opinion.

that's me, hollering from the choir loft...

Not in self and our own work?

Correct?

The example of Jesus to follow ( not people to follow or their words/ideas) is how He abode in the love of the Father, keeping always, and we abide in His love if we keep the same.

John 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

1 John 2:10 He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him.

1 John 3:14 We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.

Jude 1:21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
yes, so when we love AS HE LOVED. we at that point keep the commands..

Do you love 100% of the time 24/7?

Just asking. I know some who claim they do

Gordon: "Luke 9:48 And said unto them, Whosoever shall receive this child in my name receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me receiveth him that sent me: for he that is least among you all, the same shall be great."

To receive the Son they have to receive Him humbly, as a little child. ( then they are in the Kingdom, when they have received that way)
ah yes. Like the tax collector right? In brokenness? Or as John said?

John 1: 10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. 11 He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. 12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: 13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

yes, and another.

Blessed are the poor (bankrupt) in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of God.

I already know this truth.. Not sure why you think I do not.

Do you believe we are justified freely. and those who come as the tax collector are saved?

Or do you believe we must be like the pharisee pumping our chest of how good we are. and how much we obey God?

the adding sin to sin.
Add iniquity unto their iniquity, and let them not come into Gods righteousness. Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous. ( for they persecute Him, whom you have smote. Jesus Christ looked for comforters, but found none. They gave Him also gall for HIs meat; and in His thirst they gave Him vinegar to drink. Psalm 69:20-21. Matthew 27:34)
.)

The humble shall see this, and be glad, your heart shall live that seek God. For the Lord hears the poor, and despises not HIs prisoners.

Hell has enlarged itself, and opened her mouth without measure, their glory, multitude and pomp, and he that rejoices shall descend into it. The mean man shall be brought down,, and the mighty man shall be humbled, the eyes of the lofty shall be humbled, but the Lord of hosts shall be exalted in judgement, and God that is Holy shall be sanctified in righteousness.

Woe unto them that draw iniquity with cords of vanity, and sin as it were with a cart rope. That say let Him make speed, and hasten His work, that we may see it, and let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw near and come, that we may know it.

Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter.

Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight.

Woe to the rebellious children, says the Lord, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin. ( to not come into Gods righteousness. Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous.)

It pleased the Lord to bruise him; he has put him to grief: when you shall make his soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in His hand. He shall see of the travail of His soul, and shall be satisfied: by His knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for He shall bear their iniquities.

Psalm 69:26 For they persecute him whom thou hast smitten; and they talk to the grief of those whom thou hast wounded.
27 Add iniquity unto their iniquity: and let them not come into thy righteousness.
28 Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous.

Psalm 69:32 The humble shall see this, and be glad: and your heart shall live that seek God.
33 For the Lord heareth the poor, and despiseth not his prisoners.

Isaiah 5:14 Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it.
15 And the mean man shall be brought down, and the mighty man shall be humbled, and the eyes of the lofty shall be humbled:
16 But the Lord of hosts shall be exalted in judgment, and God that is holy shall be sanctified in righteousness.

Isaiah 5:18 Woe unto them that draw iniquity with cords of vanity, and sin as it were with a cart rope:
19 That say, Let him make speed, and hasten his work, that we may see it: and let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw nigh and come, that we may know it!
20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
21 Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!

Isaiah 30:1 Woe to the rebellious children, saith the Lord, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin:

Isaiah 53:10 Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.
11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.
