Here is what God says about the homosexual lifestyle.

"Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination." Leviticus 18:22

In both of these verses, God calls sex between two people of the same gender an abomination. The Law of Moses was the legal code in Israel, and in that nation, this was a capital crime. The sin is still an abomination, but the death sentence will be carried out at the final judgment, not in the here and now, except in nations where it remains a capital crime.

"For this cause, God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet." Here are the meaning of key words from the original Hebrew and Greek that let us know how God feels about the homosexual lifestyle.

Abomination (toebah) a disgusting thing, abomination, abominable.

Vile (atimia) dishonor, ignominy, disgrace.

unseemly (aschemosyne) indecency, obscenity, shamefulness.

Those words tell us plainly how God views the homosexual lifestyle. I find it strange that any professing Christian stands in opposition to God in defending the homosexual community. In addition to this, in Romans chapter one, it also says homosexuals were given over to a reprobate mind. As a Christian, I am not going to disagree with God.

Whether a person chooses who or what they are attracted to makes no difference as to whether it is approved of by God if they act upon it. As I mentioned, men and women can be married but attracted to someone besides their spouse. God doesn't overlook their adultery if they act upon it. A man may be attracted to a child, but he has no right to molest that child or commit statutory rape because he is attracted to that person. This can't help it stuff is not going to be acceptable at the judgment.

You could get into quite a bit of trouble if you were to read those Bible verses aloud in Australia in public or quote those verses on social media and probably in Canada, NZ and the UK, that's the western world today.

You wouldn't get jailed, but definitely can get sacked or barred from certain job opportunities. Cancel culture certainly don't want to hear or see those verses, they are just about forbidden by secular Australia, and it's crazy how they sometimes turn a blind eye to Islam.

As for Christianity we are living under the covenant of grace, so the OT punishment of stoning is replaced by love thy neighbour, but as for Islam, they are not living under grace, so there is the punishment of execution in some Islamic nations such as Saudi Arabia, and as you recently saw on tv you have a Sunni Muslim country Malaysia, where it is illegal to be gay, recently Matty Healy a singer kissed one of his male bandmates, the music festival was stopped and he got banned from Malaysia, the travel safety website of Australia "smartraveller" even mentions

Actually, the grace we are now experiencing appears to be only a moratorium. God's people have always been required to love their neighbors (Leviticus 19:18). The penalty for evil-doing is simply deferred in the sense that in the absence of theocracy, final punishment alone awaits the unrepentant sinner. The claims of justice do not diminish with mercy. They are simply but terribly transferred to the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

That is not to say there are never consequences for sin, not the least of which is the suffering and dying of Christ on the cross. God still visits the iniquities of the father on the third and fourth generations of those who hate Him (this can be seen in the genetic mutations—especially in humans—that utterly defy and negate the theory of evolution).

Every time someone (even one who ultimately rejects God's grace) has an evil thought, speaks an evil word, or commits an evil deed, what keeps them from expiring then and there is the suffering of The Precious Saviour at Calvary. :)

Was a late night post that one haha, but yeah, yep there are still consequences, just that stoning is no longer a punishment for sinners in the NT. Other than final punishment on judgement day for unrepentant sinners, you could say ones own actions may be a judgement against themselves, if they get sick or a bad situation as a result of their own actions.

So there are obvious verses in the Bible that are gonna offend some people in this world and perhaps maybe even some Christians. Also to mention Sodom and Gommorah can be a highly offensive topic to talk about these days.

Joe Biden for example is a devout Catholic, attends Mass every Sunday, you may even recall him saying about Trump "I wish he opens it once in a while" in response to Trump ordering protesters to be cleared out so that he can get pic holding up a Bible in front of a church, so Joe must obviously read the Bible going of this.

But I wonder what he thinks when he comes across those verses in the Bible and campaigns for the opposite, I do wonder how he also campaigns for abortion? As there obviously verses in the Bible that don't approve of that action either.

What do some liberal Christians think when they read verses like this? The inclusive interfaith gospel teaches there are many ways, but the Bible clearly says Jesus is the only way.

Do they believe the Bible is 100% God's word? Do they believe it is flawed and only 80% of it is inspired by God? What do they believe when it comes to reading the Bible?

It's not the topic, it is the reason it is being brought up. There is a difference between having a conversation about a passage and using that passage to condemn or to justify prejudice.

Maybe it's nitpicking, I dunno, but do you think sins that resulted in death by stoning were unforgivable? Could it actually be that everyone who suffered fatal punishment under the ancient Hebrew theocracy also forfeited eternal life?

Some will think me presumptuous to say this, but I have a hard time believing that Uzzah will be lost for spontaneously and reactively trying to prevent the ark of the covenant from being soiled by falling to the ground. He may have been disqualified for eternal life under some other circumstances, but I just believe that mortal punishment under the old covenant, so to speak, should be seen as mostly figurative of perishing as per John 3:16. :)
