Perhaps, but nearly everyone was claiming Sunday as the Christian Sabbath. It was a manipulation tool to get people to honor the Lord's Day. It wasn't because they believed it, because they had to know Sunday is the first day of the week. I figured that out fairly early on.

I was there. And I believe you are mistaken about manipulation. I was raised in the Southern Baptist church of the '60s and '70s and I can assure you that they fully believed Sunday was the definite, conscientious object of the 4th commandment. Some even knew no better than to assume it was actually the 7th day of the week (including myself—hey, I was a child :Broadly:). No unnecessary work was done on Sunday by devout adherents. My most liberal grandmother wouldn't even go out to eat after church until she was well into her '70s.

Also, I live in central Pennsylvania among the Mennonites and their offshoots, and they, too, take Sunday-keeping very seriously, even closing their businesses early on Saturday evening. I've had sit-down discussions with them and they teach that the Sabbath was changed to Sunday in the New Testament.

I do have something I want to ask you if you are 7Th Day Adventist. We have a 7Th Day Adventist Church close to my home, and I don't work Saturday anyway so I had thought about visiting it, but I have one issue, and it is not about the Sabbath Day. I knew Sunday was never the Sabbath and I overlooked that when I attended other churches. I am strongly pro-life, and unless I was told wrong, the 7Th Day Adventist Church is pretty liberal on abortion and their hospitals perform abortions. If not for that, I would have checked them out. What do you know about that?

The Seventh-day Adventist Church operates no abortion clinics. And abortion figures are hard to come by for over 200 general hospitals but I did a little research about 5 years ago when a fellow Adventist started trumpeting on YouTube that we were killing babies right and left (he's still doing it, btw, but he'll probably be forced to move on to another internal criticism soon enough), and the best figure I could come up with was about 3-4 abortions per year, worldwide—strictly medical emergent, of course.

Officially speaking, we take all 10 commandments very seriously.

But all individuals are free moral agents, so YMMV. :)

Ye shall not hate your neighbour in your heart , you shall in any way rebuke , correct him and not allow sin upon him .
We do realize its hate to not correct .......
he who spares the rod hates his son .
Its love to correct .
ALL whom GOD loveth he chastens , he corrects .
The sooner we realize this , the better off the peoples would be and would have been .
Leaven will destroy a person and a gathering and it will do it quick too .
Its not sin to expose sin , its not hate to correct memebers in errror .
And the sooner we realize this , perhaps we will stop calling those who do correct sin in churches , haters .
And if we follow the biblical correct fast method , we wont see leaven taking over the churches any more either .

In this life and in this world there are many things a man wishes he could just unwatch .
GAURD THINE HEART and make a covenant with thine eyes.
Cause believe me i have seen things i wished i had not . And even the image of it trying to pop into my head
is not user friendly either . Look forward having all hope in the LORD and be dug in that bible and in prayer .

neither will liars, which should be worrying the person who wrote the meme you posted.

So as long as we all go to hell, no worries, then?

It seems to me that for all your humanitarian-come-humanist posturing, your basic arguments boil down to 3 bullet points:

  • "Prove it!"
  • "That's not fair!"
  • "I know you are but what am I?!!"

When Christ forgave the woman taken in adultery, He didn't say to her "Now you go, girl, and keep on a' whorin' 'cause folks all over are lyin' and stealin' and bein' mean to each other anyway, so you may as well get your's in."

And when He said "Go, and sin no more" she didn't reply with "That's not fair!"

Instead, she bathed Him in a year's salary's worth of perfume.

Hating the "hater" is still hate.

And "You must sin as I sin, or you must not sin at all" will never replace the Gospel.

My friend HUMANISM and HUMANISTIC VIEWS and worship of HUMANITY , the creature rather than the CREATOR
IS all over some churches as it is in the world .
Just a friendly reminder . Let us be dug in the ever refreshing holy scrips which stir us up to remembrance .
Cause in this life there are opinions without number , and most often , THEY BE A CONTRADICTING THE WORD OF GOD .
And many believeth they are ENTITLED to them thar said opinions .
NOPE .
IF any opinion , any thought , any word , any spirit , contradicts the BLESSED WORD and words of the LORD
there is but one place for it , DENIED AND REJECTED . GOD ALONE is the one ENTITLED
HIS TRUTH ALONE is what we must learn , heed and love and embrace .

If anyone feels frisky and feels like giving the GLORY . WELL GIVE IT TO GOD I SAY .
CAUSE HE ALONE IS WORTHY .
Now lift those hands , cause it is , yet again , LORD PRAISING TIME in the building .

It seems to me that for all your humanitarian-come-humanist posturing, your basic arguments boil down to 3 bullet points:
You the ONE that WROTE THIS . i was just explaining it a bit . How can it not be relevant . You said it first .
Just a super duper dandy , over the top hip hop friendly reminder . Sorry about the last line
but it seems this langauge is about the only language this generation can understand .

I said what I said and you replied to me. I have no need of a friendly reminder of something I said. Nor do I need to be reminded that human opinions are infinitely inferior to the WORD. So I acknowledge and decline. You are still free to speak your mind, obviously.

Friendly reminders, if overdone, are apt to cross over into the territory of coercion and imposition upon religious liberty. I have a right to believe what I believe regardless of your disapproval. And please don't pretend you don't know what I'm talking about. I've ignored your insinuations long enough. I may be mistaken in this case and, if so, I am sorry. But you have your anti-church organization concerns; I have the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus to attend to. You have erected the great gulf that is now fixed between us. I don't view it as irreparable, but I have no power to halt the campaign you began about a month ago.

Yes, I do ask for evidence to back up claims.

I rarely get any.

I don't intend to stop asking.

I'm sorry that offends you.
  • "That's not fair!"
Discrimination isn't fair or right or moral

At least you admit that what is being posted here about LGBT individuals hate.

You be mistaken . And even though , by grace i have read and continue to read the bible daily
I faint with joy when anyone reminds me of the truth .

I'm sorry that offends you.

I'm not too good to suffer offense, so no worries.

But insisting on more and more evidence for something the Bible has already settled is bound to produce antagonism.

Discrimination isn't fair or right or moral

Life isn't "fair," just in case it's taking you longer than your age to learn that. Discrimination is a necessary function of life. I try to distinguish between healthy food and poison, for example.

And what did Jesus way to the man she was caught with?

More "That's not fair!"

Do you think she asked Jesus what He was going to do about her suitors?

At least you admit that what is being posted here about LGBT individuals hate.

More "I know you are but what am I."

You can't seem to catch anyone in anything more than an imagined implication (you even use the word often and openly).

I don't accuse you of hating anyone, but you're just sure as shootin' that everyone who believes the 7th commandment means just what the Bible teaches is full of hate.
