Here are more children Mary,

Mar 10:13
And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them.
Mar 10:14
But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
Mar 10:15
Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.
Mar 10:16
And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.

Would you like me to show you the beginning Mary?

Here it is:

Jhn 1:1
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Not relevant Ziggy....we are discussing men interpreting Scripture on their own with no teacher involved.

Get focused man....

A random passage from John 14 does not support a passage from 1 John 2. Twist it all you want....there is NO connection. When you twist Scripture you bring destruction upon yourself.

No man cometh unto the father but by me has NOTHING to do with men reading Scripture on their own and being able to properly inerpret it.

THAT is what we are discussing.....stay focused and RELEVANT!!
I am curious. Have you ever read the Bible?

Just asking

Gee, I thought we was discussing Bread...

and who gets to determine the interpretation of what bread is?

Jesus who IS the bread, or man that tells us what their interpretation of bread is?

That letter from John is not written to YOU!
OUCH again,,
Dang you got claws lol

1Jo 1:1
That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;
1Jo 1:2
(For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)
1Jo 1:3
That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
1Jo 1:4
And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.

If this letter isn't written to me, then you can count yourself out as well.
But I know that I have fellowship with the Father and Jesus Christ..

But Mary, where do you doubt yourself?

Nope, we are not discussing bread. We are discussing your defense of the statement that EG made that any man can read John 6 without a teacher to teach them if they just listen.

Last chance....Stay on task or we are done.

If you want to change the subject to bread let me know.

If I have done that please let me know which post(s) it was so I can clarify, apologize or prove my case.

Respectfully, Mary
If you cannot see all the correspondence between yourself and @Eternally Grateful then, I suggest you look back. BOTH calling the other "Liars", and other un-edifying comments. And @Ziggy as well.

It's a learning curve Nancy..
I take no offence. I forgive Mary. It's ok...

It might get messy, but maybe it will eventually get resolved
I don't know for sure, but we can pray

If we were to delete every post here that is off topic, most of this thread would be gone
We are discussing the Bible, there so many topics in that little ol book, it's hard to stay on topic.
We've gone from Bread , which is a very good topic, to who gets to interpret what Bread is,
and who is exactly included in John's letters.
I think we're making great head way.

Round 1 was about your defense of EG (by using a passage from Scripture) saying that any man can read Scripture and understand without the help of a teacher if they just listen. I showed you that the passage you used to defend that theory DOES NOT support that theory. That passage YOU used is not written to YOU or ME or EG.

I showed you where you were wrong. You failed to show me where I was wrong, so YOU lost round 1....off to round 2.

Change the topic....I am ready.

How can round one be over if neither you or I forfeited?

That makes no sense....Let's move on.

Thank you, Nancy.

I will not call anyone a liar again. I understand how that can be offensive even when the evidence is clear. I didn't mean it to be offensive. I will soften my words.

Respectfully, Mary

If I was to say right now "I never called EG a liar" you could quote my posts where I in fact did call EG a liar.

I can prove my case against EG. Is it personal when someone lies OR is it personal when someone calls out a lie? Is this thread only unworthy of continuing because I saw something walking and quacking like a duck, so I called it a duck? Or is it unworthy of continuing because of the lies?

Curious Mary

If this back and forth between the two of you has become personal (as is obvious) then please take it off the forum and inbox one another if you both want to continue. These posts are off topic (and you know which ones I'm talking about)
I'll be watching the post.

Yes there ARE many topics in a single line of scripture too, I find :) But this OP is specifically speaking of the "Bread that comes down from heaven". Yes, many OP's eventually go off topic, it's the nasty ones we are concerned with. They could push a weak or new or young Christian away; heck, even seasoned Christians are offended at these kinds of posts as it does not at all glorify The Lord.

So you want to go from John 6 and the bread from heaven which is the OP,
to The Holy Spirit doing the interpreting of scripture to any who will listen?

Ok..

So in order to have context we have to go to the beginning of the letter right?

In 1 John chapter 1 verse 4, who is John speaking to?
1Jo 1:4
And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.

Who is you?

Once we get that down then we know anything going forward is addressed to this "you" alone and no one else?
Is that what you believe?
