Sins aren't forgiven till we repent, I don't think. The trouble with sin is that it brings trouble into our lives. When we repent, the trouble fades away.

I'm hearing many Christians say that once you get saved all your sins are forgiven, past present, and future.

Is this true or not?

OK so you support the gay christians and believe they are saved too?

If you mean, "Does the Lord stop disciplining us after we are saved?" the answer is no.

What does this have to do with all ours sins being forgiven, past present, and future?

Are they? Or are they not?

That is the question.

I think it is simple really, A person who has been adopted by God and saved is a new creature. A new creature does not act or live like the old creature. Ie a Dog does not return to his vomit.

Its hard to fathom a person who claims to be born of God who is living in open sin and rebellion to God, has been saved, In the same token, its hard to fathom a church who allows that open sin to continue in fellowship. If a person is newly born again, the person will probably struggle and he needs our support. But after awhile. And his refusal to repent. It is time to do what paul said to the man sleeping wiht his fathers wife.

You do the same for adulterers, fornicators. And considering there is no allowance in scripture for a man to be married to a man, or a woman to be married to a woman. They can not even use the marriage (even if legal in their state or country) as an excuse.. It is still sin.

Always from within are noble institutions destroyed. Satan knows this best of all. :(

Our local city council includes a newly elected member who is a gay man. So of course, this past June there suddenly appeared a new flag pole in the courtyard outside City Hall upon which the rainbow pride flag was hoisted up. Last week council voted on removing this flag pole entirely or otherwise make it a commemorative display upon which any group might fly their flag on special occasions without prejudice. They couldn't get anything passed. The mayor and this councilman want the pole reserved ONLY for the gay flag and no others. They wouldn't agree to eliminate it and restrict the poles to three, for US flag, State flag and the POW flag that are already in place.

When pirates take over a ship, they remove the ship flag-- whatever flag she flies, and they hoist the Jolly Roger, signifying that they've taken over. Watch for that rainbow flag flying at the Vatican, just like it was at the Whitehouse this past year.

Agreed. I gave a speech on the step of the Michigan capital building a life time ago and made the very same point about the historic symbolism of raising a flag to show victory and dominion.

The day of my speech was "UN Flag Day." For that one day, the UN flag flew over every US State Capital building. I, for one, am not loyal to the sodomy flag. Why don't we fly the Christian flag?

That question was posed to council. 'If we allow the flying of the rainbow flag in June, we would need to make the pole available to other groups who wish to commemorate their movement or group-- for example, will we allow Christians to fly their flag at City Hall for a month of their choosing?"

The response was crickets. Then the Mayor said-- no. "Christian" isn't an identity that anyone was born with.

Dear Unconscious Mary,

Wake up. Your Pope has done more to damage traditional Catholic 'values' than any (other) activist ever could.
You are a media zombie.

(ZENIT News / Washington, 12.21.2023).- The document released this week by the Vatican on the pastoral meaning of blessings insists that marriage is a union of one man and one woman in lifelong fidelity and openness to children, said Bishop Robert Barron of Winona-Rochester. Following the publication of Fiducia supplicans by the Vatican’s Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith, the chairman of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ (USCCB) Committee on Laity, Marriage, Family Life, and Youth, addressed questions and concerns that have emerged.

“In my capacity as chairman of the USCCB Committee on Laity, Marriage, Family Life, and Youth, I would like to respond to some of the questions and concerns that have emerged in the wake of the publication of the Vatican document, Fiducia Supplicans. The statement in no way calls for a change in the Church’s teaching regarding marriage and sexuality. In fact, it goes to great lengths to insist that, in accord with unchanging doctrine, marriage is a union of one man and one woman in lifelong fidelity and openness to children.

“The blessings that it allows for those in irregular relationships are not liturgical in nature and hence do not imply any approbation of such relationships. Rather, these benedictions are informal and spontaneous, designed to call upon God’s mercy to heal, guide, and strengthen. Despite some misleading coverage in the press, the declaration does not constitute a ‘step’ toward ratification of same-sex marriage nor a compromising of the Church’s teaching regarding those in irregular relationships.

Fiducia Supplicans is very much congruent with Pope Francis’s long-held conviction that those who do not live up to the full demand of the Church’s moral teaching are nevertheless loved and cherished by God and invited to accept the Lord’s offer of forgiveness.”

Aww.... Bless your heart, and the seat you rode in on.

You can defend it all you like. I couldn't care less beyond a feeling of sadness for you and Catholics like you.

Let me put it like this, so that you and @Marymog and anyone else might understand my perspective if interested...

I don't concern myself with regard to the question of if people are gay, or transgender, or addicted to drugs or alcohol, or if people are Mormon, or Catholic, or nudists or ride blessed motorcycles. It's their (your) business. I think of them all the same way. -They are messed up, mixed up, and misguided in their thinking and their practices. But it doesn't really affect me. If they (you) want to wear a dress and high heels, or a robe and fancy hat, or strap on leathers--- I don't care. I don't participate.

If any of them want to play, make believe, and pretend something or other-- go ahead. If you want to believe one thing or another? -Feel free. I don't play along. For a man to think he's become a woman and to go fix his face for tea with the Pope-- it's mental illness. I'm not going to join that tea party. I'm not going to play along. And I'm not going to play along when a man puts on a long flowing robe and pretends that by saying a few magic words he turns bread into flesh. Your game of pretend, is your own. Not for me, thanks anyway.

Don't tell me I have to. I don't have to condone it in others or twist myself into a pretzel to explain myself, nor do I have to defend the acts and actions of some sick man I follow. As with all the rest-- I'll leave that to you.

Are you aware of the Muslim tradition of saying one thing in English regarding peace and another thing in Arabic regarding the destruction of Israel?

It's like that with the Pope. He can say all he wants that is defensible. The criticism he is getting is what he's said that is indefensible. Hence, the headline that started this thread.

I realize we live in a highly polarized society. So, we have to decide what side we are on, good or evil. Throwing raw meet to the side of evil may seem good intentioned but as they say, such is how the road to hell is paved.

ha ha.....

How about that flag that flies in Yemen? Here it is.... the Houti flag. It seems nice..... almost "Christmasy." It's not just a flag, it's their slogan.

It's okay. You don't have to say anything. I understand the concern that Catholic leaders must have and the fear of speaking out against abominable positions their Pope takes. Bishop Strickland got booted out for exactly that.

Funny how people who so readily condemned Twitter for censorship, now want to pat the Pope on the head for worse...

The Vatican's investigation into Strickland came after the 65-year-old bishop had been posting social media messages and making other announcements critical of the Pope's support of "radical left-wing changes" to Church teachings.
Actually- that’s NOT true at all. We are free to disagree with the Pope on these matter because they are NOT official doctrinal matter. I personally think this Pope is a bad communicator - and leftist media uses that to their advantage,
Shame on YOU for falling for it . . .

The problem with people like
YOU is that you are clueless of Catholic teaching, so you post half-truths and outright LIES to compensate for your ignorance. Like I said – it is woefully-apparent that you didn’t actually READ the document.
You just swallowed what the mainstream media was feeding you – hook, line and
sinker . . .,

I get it. You have no honest reply to post #158. Just more stupid insults. It's time to put your bigotry on ignore.

Well, you know what they say.....

"Tolerance is the virtue of the man without convictions."

He's your Papa, not mine.
