"Death" NEVER means a person ceases to exist in the Bible. And convincing people that there is no eternal Hell fire is just another road to Hell fire!

Rev 20 "they will be tormented day and night FOREVER and EVER" in the Lake of Fire.
The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where[ a] the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

They are not John Q Public. They are evil spirits, the lot of them.

Humans will receive the exact same fate. Guess you missed this:

Matthew 25
41 Then He will also say to those on the left hand, 'Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels:
Revelation 20:10
10 The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

The rich man died but was quite alive in the fire.

Luke 16

19 "There was a certain rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and fared sumptuously every day. 20 But there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, full of sores, who was laid at his gate, 21 desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table. Moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. 22 So it was that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels to Abraham's bosom. The rich man also died and was buried. 23 And being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. 24 Then he cried and said, 'Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.' 25 But Abraham said, 'Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted and you are tormented.
It's a parable.

parable

noun

  1. A simple story illustrating a moral or religious lesson.
  2. A comparison; similitude.
  3. Specifically An allegorical relation or representation from which a moral is drawn for instruction; an apologue.

Mat 19:16
And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
Mat 19:17
And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
Mat 19:20
The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?
Mat 19:21
Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
Mat 19:22
But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.

This young man when he left that conversation was being tormented with sorrow.
Psa 116:3
The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow.

1Jo 4:18
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

Mathew I had forgotten because it truly scares the living daylights out of me that some how, some way I am going to blow it.

Parables don't use literal Biblical people, Lazarus, Moses, Abraham ...

The fear of God is HEALTH! It's probably the main doctrine of the Christian Bible.

You're totally ignoring the NT Scriptures I quoted. Anyone who leads others to Hell fire will join them in Hell.
I'm not ignoring anything. I'm trying to expand your thinking.
I agree, with the second sentence.
If I am an unbeliever and I lead others to not believe in God, then we both will walk hand in hand to death together.
If I am a thief and I teach others how to steal, we'll both end up in jail.

No doubt about it.

You certainly did ignore the several verses about the everlasting fire that Jesus warned us and I quoted.

I would like you to take a moment and go back over that post and read it slowly.
Try to understand what it is I'm saying.

I quoted several NT warnings about the everlasting fire. Guess you didn't even read them.

You can't pick and choose the parts you like. Are you really willing to risk burning in Hell by convincing others that there is no eternal Hell fire???
Yes. I probably will get cremated seeing today it is the most financialy sound way to go.
I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything.
Everybody has their own interpretation and how they hear it and how God gives it to them to hear.
I'm simply sharing the way I hear it.
I'm not judging or accusing anyone for hearing or understanding it differently.
But you are.
Try listening.

If you only want to argue and not share how you understand the very verses you quoted, but simply quote them without understanding,
then I'm done here.
I don't want to argue, I rather discuss.

Quoting Scripture is not "judging" anyone. I'm trying to pull Satan's victims from the fire.

And another NT warning!

Jude 1:22-23
22 And on some have compassion, making a distinction;
23 but others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire,

Humans will receive the exact same fate. Guess you missed this:

Matthew 25
41 Then He will also say to those on the left hand, 'Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels:
Revelation 20:10
10 The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
Note that Rev 20:10 only specifies the devil, beast and false prophet.

Now, if you go on to 15...

Revelation 20:15 Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.

Here, eternal torment is not mentioned specifically as it is in v10. One can *assume* the same conditions apply, but the Bible does not specifically state this is so. OTOH, they could very well just be obliterated instantly or tormented for a certain length of time and then destroyed.

The only humans that scripture clearly promises eternal torment are those who worship the beast or receive his mark.

u
Rev 20 "they will be tormented day and night FOREVER and EVER" in the Lake of Fire.
I know the traditional view of Hell is eternal. I have always had a problem with that. This prompted me to do a thorough study of the nature of Hell which led me to write a book entitled, "Hell ... If I Know". Now, that doesn't make me right. I can just say that I have done much study on the subject. The words used for eternity, ever, everlasting, (aion, aionios, anionion) are conditional and variable according to how they are applied. If they are used to describe a temporal realm, they can only have a finite meaning. Mountains aren't eternal or everlasting. If Hades is part of the underworld, inside the earth, then it is temporal. So these words when applied to a temporal realm mean ages, lifetimes, generations . When applied to God, His domain or our salvation, they mean eternal, without end. Also, destruction means just that, to put an end to. You can't destroy something for eternity. It would be an indestructible destruction or imperishable perishing. 2 Peter 3:10 describes an event when the (first heavens and earth and universe) destroyed in a fervent heat. If unbelievers are now in Hades awaiting for their final judgment, why would God resurrect them only to put them back in a pit, the same place? They are already judged. One life, one death, then the judgment. The second death is actually merciful in that God puts an end to their miserable existence. How would God be glorified by keeping prisoners, suffering in torment for eternity - for just sinning in some cases a few decades? The judgments and punishment of God have always been proportionate to the sin. Besides at the end of the Bible, it says all former things have passed away, behold I make all things new AND there will be no more pain and suffering. This is a message to Christians who will be in heaven. Obviously in heaven there is no pain or suffering, it goes without saying. No, this means no pain or suffering anywhere and death is destroyed. What is death? And be not afraid of them that kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Matt. 10:28
