i have seen Calvinists go at Armenians and vice versa ad infinitum. those who believe in conditional security, and those who are OSAS.... the protestant vs. the catholic etc., etc. they all accuse each other of heresy, unsound doctrine or even worse being unsaved. These are doctrines of men, that cause division that we all must rise above.... there are brothers and sisters in Christ in all of these sects that need to "Grow up into Christ". You cannot force people to "grow up" they have to embrace responsibility for themselves and desire to pursue the high calling. The best we can do is guide and encourage and at times correct them on their journey. If they are truly seeking the way they will find that way and God will lead them in the direction they should go. Sometimes arguing with them causes them to entrench in the position they are in and hinders their growth. (Malachi 3:16-18)

My recommendation for people here who have descended into bickering and name calling is to read 1 Corinthians.... This Epistle more than others deals with division in the church. Especially chapters 1-3 and 12-14.

While this is preferable, context is important. We are to have peace with all men as much as we can AND cursed is he that keeps his sword back from blood. Phinehas was deemed righteous by God for his intervention in stopping the plague...even though it amounted to killing two people.

It depends whether holiness is involved....or false claims to holiness. At that point it becomes crucial to correct, rebuke and generally correct those who besmirch God's character. If we don't then where is our allegiance? Peace at all costs?

Why was Jesus so hard on the Pharisees? Was He not trying to warn others about their teachings? If He remained silent, would that have been taken as approval? So then a teacher corrects. And those who minister for Christ have to speak as the oracle of God...correcting...and rebuking when necessary.

Having said that, there is a time to be silent and let God judge. But we are not in each other's presence...it's all just typing. So then the mood cannot be transmitted. I think people read in things in that are not there. There is no replacement for real human contact. At least...when there are vast differences in thoughts.

I tend to stay away from liking heated replies between other members here, unless the reply has truth that makes me go to God and understand what has been shared.

In Epi's reply (post #369), thoughts came to me about why we shouldn't have a judgemental attitude towards others, of different doctrine beliefs, denominations or religions. One way to look at it, is we close our hearts off to them, as if they don't deserve the truth of Christ. If one is a true follower of Jesus, do we not want as many people as we meet in this life, to hear the good news, and follow him whole heartedly? What if God can use us, to share His truth with these people? However, a judgemental attitude towards others can cause us to be blinded by pride in ourselves, that these people don't deserve God. Just my thoughts from reading Epi's reply.

Of course, but Epi is always assuming and accusing those who disagree with his doctrine, of being judgmental, when he has no idea at all....just judging based on who disagrees with his take on things. Oh well.

That's what it looks like to you. I am shocked when people see what I see. I have been very very privileged to know what I do. I don't expect ANYONE to understand the deeper things. I am not dogmatic at all. I think it's a miracle to know the depth of the gospel.

Listen to my podcasts...read my book, read my OP. I am only laying out things as they are from God's perspective.

What happens is that I get attacked. Of course you won't see the many false accusations I put up with on a daily basis. And I expect to be hated for the truth's sake.

I warn people generally..and then the flesh rises up to negate my words. What am I to do with those accusations? You want me to keep silent...or correct? So then I am VERY accurate in my corrections...knowing I will answer before the Lord for every word spoken.

Then it becomes...we'll see on judgment day. See I have warned you...

For sure. And we are on a public forum where people who don't participate in the debating can still benefit. One has to be ready for strong opposition..and pressure... since the religious mindset is so set against sound doctrine. Imagine Paul commenting on what is posted on forums such as this. How hard would he be?

You are missing the point....as usual. When Jesus gave us the story about the good Samaritan, that was a righteousness story...not a holiness story. Jesus was satisfied that the Samaritan had loved his neighbour as himself...as this pleased God. Nowhere does it say that to be a good neighbour one needed first to know God. To do kindness IS to know God...on that level (righteousess)

James calls loving one's neighbour ...the "royal" law.

So to be dogmatic means you only have a one track mind with it's derailed thinking.

Loving God is the holiness commandment. The Jews believe that loving God means doing His commandments. But they are carnal people trying to do what they can't do. And you use His holy name to condemn, bring strife and justify yourself.

And brother many can be so kind in so many ways to others, but then go home and do such things as terrorize and beat their wives and children unbeknownst to anyone. Are such going to inherit eternal life? How can anyone presume to be a judge that anyone is good or bad? That boggles my mind. by implying this , using this example to negate the fact ONE DOES have to BELIEVE ON JESUS CHRIST .

not to seek the TRUTH in the bible but rather to find scrips to back what THEY THINK IS TRUTH .
In order to justify THEIR SOCIAL GOSPEL . many have done things like this .
IF a man goes by what he believes to be true , by doctrines and ideals of men or of himself
and uses that mind to try and justify what it beleives , WELL PREPARE to be decieved is all i can say .
THEY WONT read teh WHOLE of what was written , and what they do read
they use to justify whatever it is THEY WANTED TO BELIEVE . NOT rather just reading and learning
and Heeding GOD , CHRIST , the SPIRIT which would have led them into RIGHTLY DIVIDED TRUTH .
