If your church is a bible teaching church and they are teaching you the Bible and not just saying things, or antiodical stories, making light shows and music jams, then I wouldn't recommend leaving. Keep learning the Bible, if your pastor is adamant on praying before and after, and saying Hey go and research for yourself, and overall just teaching the Bible and not making demands that you must tithe or anything like that, I would stick around there.

But if it's opposite and cultish, I wouldn't stick around there.

The Pastor was in a tough spot. Caught between an upset member and supporting his staff.
Too bad he has no moral understanding to navigate such predictable scenarios.

And to say I was upset is besides the point. I’m not ‘upset’ with his staff but his man-hating leadership.

It seems that I have gone 180 degrees opposite of the majority here.
Huh? Other than you, everyone - including me - thought I should leave.
Right. That would put me at 180 degrees from everyone else, right?
I agreed initially, until I read your post #36. And replied in post #39.

To be clear, you should have left, and you did. Now what?
Your wife still attends and the Pastor reached out to you.

I have issues with my Pastor. Should I leave? My wife and I attend there.
It would be difficult if I left. But... I may at some point. (WAY too evangelical for me)

Now, the thread has run its course.
So, you have left the church permanently? Will your wife continue to attend without you?
How does she feel about this, since she is still there. Don't answer if that is too personal.

Depends. What are the issues?
He is really laying a guilt-trip on the church about personal evangelism.
He's ramping up toward a commitment from us as a church.
Not sure I want to be part of a program that uses the threat of hell to get people to convert. (extortion)

Father's Day celebration. They asked men trivial questions like what color the children’s eyes are, what their pediatrician’s name is. They even asked one grandfather what is the date of his 2 grandchildren’s birthday. When he gave the month and year, the FEMALE interviewer told him that was not good enough. What was the year they were born?

To justify the exciting conclusion, the women had to pass no test. It was automatically bestowed. The best dads are moms the Pre announcement proclaimed to end the segment. It presented men as jokes, buffoons and did not honor men at all. It honored women on Father’s Day as the superior dad! Thoughts?

Gods says….His house is a house of Prayer…
Not particularly a place for dumb games…to make fools of men they were supposed to be giving a hat tip tribute….that should have been more about asking Gods Blessings over father’s…and perhaps a sermon on the father’s role as a dad would have been appropriate…

I wouldn’t say…leave your church…but rather have a meeting with the cleric, elders, regarding your disappointment….receive their responses….Before you decide to make a drastic move.

God Bless you.

Did that. Read these posts in context.

No response. That tells me it is probably time to go.

Perhaps I am to be the one to initiate the meeting.

Email that he's not going to meet with me

I have his blessing to go to another church.

I replied one last time saying, "You don't have it in your heart to meet with me. That says it all.
The total alienation of the 10-year relationship happened in only a couple of exchanges as I detailed the Punch (P) and Counter-Punch (CP) blow by blow.

I had a choice to make. Start a crusade, going to the Board, getting on the board, etc. Or I could simply walk away. I chose MGTWOW.

Looks like you may be leaving more than a church. ??? I've been aware of MGTOW for some time.
I have had a personal ministry of support toward men who were victims of divorce and worse.

Gotcha! A similar thing occurred for a group of dear friends who had attended a Church for some 30 years….and the Pastor retired…a new Pastor was installed….and things slowly began “changing” (woke before woke was called woke)… Long standing members also tried to have meaningful meetings with the Pastor to no avail … One by one the long standing members began leaving THAT Church to their dismay and heavy hearts.

Agree…you did the extent of what you could do…

God bless you.
