Do we also apply this sort of logic to orthodox Jews? The idea that no one has any objection to Christ that isn't based on a desire to live a sinful life is both untrue and slanderous.

We?

The idea that no one has any objection to Christ that isn't based on a desire to live a sinful life is both untrue and slanderous.

There are many reasons why people don’t follow Jesus. Like every pastor, I’ve heard many of them (including yours) and I ask in order to gain an understanding of what the reason is for someone, with an eye toward addressing it and changing the circumstance.

How can you change it when the bible itself is the reason?

The Christians, I mean.

You aren‘t a Christian and you’re not even remotely close to becoming one.

How can you change it when the bible itself is the reason?

If the reason is something written in the Bible then I would try to find out what that is and address it. There’s no guarantee that I could help the person change their mind. Like every other pastor, I’ve had successes and failures in the endeavor. Ultimately it’s up to the person who has the stumbling block to decide for himself or herself.
