If God's Word does not provide a clear definition for how many years a generation is then fuhgettaboutit

Psalm 90:10
The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.

Looks like the average lifespan of man ends up being the Lord's definition of how long a generation is seeing you have nothing to offer that counters this.

Really your only two options are Better luck next time or fuhgettaboutit!
You obviously aren't someone who can be taken seriously. You are yet another one who thinks you can just make scripture say whatever you want it to say. Nowhere does that verse say that it's describing a generation. It's clearly describing the average human life span instead.

The average human lifespan is the length of a generation.

You have no scripture that says otherwise.

You obviously aren't someone who can be taken seriously

You've been given ample opportunity to prove from scripture where the Lord specifically defines how many years a generation is so you are the one who cannot be taken seriously seeing you have no scripture saying the average human life span that the Lord provides in scripture is not a generation

Maybe things will work out better for ya on the next topic!

Thank you for admitting that. It's a rare thing to see on this forum.
:gd

Yes, it changes everything as it relates to what you were saying about Matthew 24:34.
I don't see it.
Where are you getting that idea from? It can't be from Psalm 90:10 since that verse has nothing to do with the duration of a generation.
All this because I worded things wrong in the beginning.

Where do you get the idea from that "this generation" lasts for 80 years?
The lifespan is 70 years and if by strength 80 years. The fig generation will not pass away until all is fulfilled.
You just acknowledged that what I was saying about Psalm 90:10 is right, so it can't be from there. So, where are you getting that from?
See above. These verses are about the coming of the Messiah.

All this because I worded things wrong in the beginning.
What does that mean?

The lifespan is 70 years and if by strength 80 years. The fig generation will not pass away until all is fulfilled.
What does the human lifespan have to do with a "fig generation"? Nothing.

See above. These verses are about the coming of the Messiah.
I don't know what you're saying because you're being very vague in this post.

The average human lifespan is the length of a generation.

You have no scripture that says otherwise.
You have no scripture which teaches that, so I guess you think it's okay to just make things up?

Scripture never teaches that we will not be ruled by aliens on the new earth, so I guess that must be true then, right? If scripture doesn't say otherwise, then it must be true, right? According to your wacky way of interpreting scripture, anyway.

You've been given ample opportunity to prove from scripture where the Lord specifically defines how many years a generation is so you are the one who cannot be taken seriously seeing you have no scripture saying the average human life span that the Lord provides in scripture is not a generation
So, we can't trust the Greek Bible dictionaries created by Greek experts then? We should ignore the definitions that they give for the word "genea" (translated as "generation" in Matthew 24:34)? It's fine for us to create our own definitions for words whenever we want? You're cool with just making scripture say whatever you want it to say by using whatever definitions for words that you want even if you can't find those definitions in any dictionary? Really?

Maybe things will work out better for ya on the next topic!
They're not working out well for you at all on this topic since you are strongly coming across as if you are completely fine with just making scripture say whatever you want it to say by making up your own definitions for words.

Thanks for sharing your "opinion"

You have no scripture which teaches that, so I guess you think it's okay to just make things up?

You have no scripture which teaches the average lifetime span is not a generation so WHY do you continue making things up? Weird!

So, we can't trust the Greek Bible dictionaries created by Greek experts then?

Let God be true and every man a liar, unless He's quoting what the Lord says in His Word.

The Lord is the ONLY expert, all others are posers trying to get others to think they are "experts"

They're not working out well for you at all on this topic

You failed to show where God's Word tells us how many years makes up a generation, so better luck next time.

You're down by one currently.

What does that mean?
It means I worded thing wrong in the beginning and started a bunch of unnecessary back and forth.
What does the human lifespan have to do with a "fig generation"? Nothing.
Really?
I don't know what you're saying because you're being very vague in this post.
Sorry.

The fig tree generation is considered the generation that sees Israel reborn as a nation. If a lifespan is 70 years and 80 years in strength, those years can be added to 1948. The sum is the year 2028.

The Lord says that this generation will not pass away until all the things He spoke of in Matthew 24 come to pass.

Put on the hypothetical timeline of the Millennial Kingdom being set up in 2030, a 2028 return of Jesus for the second harvest at the 6th seal, fits perfectly, and they fly away.

Additionally, Apophis, the asteroid, coming on April 13 2029, would fit perfectly into the wrath of God which is the 7th seal.

Where is the scripture which shows that a generation can refer to the average human life span? That is what someone was claiming and using Psalm 90:10 as evidence. So, do you have any such scripture or not? If not, then thank you for verifying that you believe we can just apply any definition to any word that we want to make scripture say what we want it to say. That is very clearly what you believe, which is pathetic. Game over. I win. You lose. Time to move on.

No, I was just kidding. Yes, really. Did I come across that I wasn't being serious? How many times do I have to say that scripture never defines the average human life span as being a generation? The word generation never means the average human life span. If that's what you're trying to say, then you are clearly making up your own definition for that word which you can't find in any dictionary.

Sorry.

This is ridiculous. Psalm 90:10 relates to the average human life span, not the duration of a generation. Why are you just making things up like this? You clearly are willing to do anything to make scripture say whatever you want it to say, including making up your own definitions for words.

The Lord says that this generation will not pass away until all the things He spoke of in Matthew 24 come to pass.

You speak complete nonsense. You can't be taken seriously.

That's just his opinion.

He has nothing from scripture to prove it's not.
You have nothing from scripture to prove that aliens from outer space will one day rule the world, so I guess that must be true. There is nothing in scripture saying that I'm not 10 feet tall, so I guess I must be 10 feet tall. There is nothing in scripture saying that you have any idea of what you're talking about, so it must be true that you don't know what you're talking about.

Do you have any scriptures or not?

Been waiting and so for all you got is notta allotta nothing :funlaugh2
Are you just pretending to be dull? If you're going to claim that a generation can refer to the average human life span, then the onus is on you to prove that. And you have provided nothing to back that up. And there is no dictionary which gives that definition, either. So, what you are proving is that you are willing to apply any definition you want to any word you want in order to make scripture say whatever you want it to say. And all you can do is laugh about that. Pathetic. You can't be taken seriously at all. Not that anyone does take you seriously. You haven't given anyone any reason to do so.

Correct. Also, King David passed away at 70 years old.

1967 + 70 = 2037 Jesus will return by then.
2037 - 7 years = 2030 the Gog/Magog event will take place by then. Ezekiel 39:9 7 years coincide with the Daniel 9:27 7 years.

With what is going on with the Israel and Iran war, it is likely that Gog/Magog is not that far away.

Yep, now that Israel is bombing Iran's oil refineries which is going to really upset China and Russia who have been depending on Iran for fuel.

Israel is kicking butt and taking names!

And the Lord is blessing them in their right to self defense.

Well I do have to lower myself and slow down brain activity just to talk to you
Is it possible for you to slow it down any further? It doesn't seem like it.

If that that's how you roll, I supposed that's what you'll continue doing
I expect people to back up their beliefs with scripture, which you are clearly incapable of doing.

Oh look, another person who thinks it's okay to make up his own definitions for words in order to make scripture say what he wants it to say. Nowhere does scripture or any dictionary define a generation as the human life span. You guys are incredibly dishonest and willing to twist scripture however you can to make it fit your doctrine. It's just pathetic to witness.
