What an odd topic for Christians to be excited about. In my 55 years of engaging them, they have consistently made a few claims quite clear:

- God can never be proven by science.
- Faith is the only thing needed to believe things that are unproven.
- (corollary) If god were proven, faith would become unnecessary, thus diminishing the role of the church, as there would be no need to hear sermons about things that are now facts, instead of just faith-based claims that require constant reinforcement (and tithing).

I'm not sure the (very profitable) institutions of Christianity really want their god proven....

He came to see that theism is the most reasonable explanation for the existence of all things. You haven’t.

I’m more moved by the fact that 30 million more Christians - just in the last decade - in the US now list themselves as ‘nones’ - having abandoned the religion they championed for decades. So, I think my 30 million trumps your 1….

If you were to be "born-again" by the Living Spirit of God , that would be your New Beginning and your understanding would grow in the knowledge of the Truth(including factual science).

No one with an IQ over 12 has any problem proving they’ve been kissed or in love. We know the definitions of kisses and love. We know what physical and emotional responses, as well as what behaviors provide evidence consistent with those definitions of love. Christianity is not a Religion......as Religion is a man made set of "dos and donts" that tries to achieve self salvation, or self deification, or ultimate self enlightement.
So, this is why the 30 million you mentioned were not really Christians.........they all had Religion, but none had Salvation.

Salvation is God become ONE of us, to offer forgiveness and eternal life FROM THE CROSS.... to "all who will believe" and are born again.

There’s a falling away in the industrials nations that put a priority on education and critical thinking - while your religion is virtually exploding in 3rd world nations with an average 6th grade education level - not that long removed from animism. YES, and it is EXACTLY what God says has been occurring since man first fell into darkness.
