Your spiritual rebirth story - An event, or a gradual experience?

I made an assured Decision to reach out to the Lord with my confession and submission.
I did so, in a church, before witnesses, many whom I knew. The submission was personally a good feeling the following water Baptism, was not particularly impressive.

The Growing in My daily relationship and Blessings over the Years has been the most rewarding (so far), regarding my Salvation. Looking forward to the day to see my Lord as He is.

Glory to God,
Taken

In my experience, it was both an event and a gradual deeper change. The effects at conversion were immediate and life changing. It was a radical change in mindset and worldview. A complete turning around in conviction and attitude to the world, to others, but especially to God.
Then followed the development of character. The putting away of the more hidden and insidious habits and addictions that even we aren't always aware of. The burying of pride. The death of those long held attitudes that impede and hinder our being changed into the image of Christ. That takes a life time. It takes a daily dying to self. A continual commitment and consecrated relationship with Jesus. An unbroken connection to the Vine. And then we begin beating fruit, and others begin to benefit from the seeds that the fruit bestow as we share the gospel and share ourselves with those in need.

These are glorious and wonderful things, brother! There is no greater pleasure, no deeper satisfaction, no higher purpose, no loftier honor, no better way than to express the fullness of Christ from the richness of His blessings and mercies upon us.
