Welcome to the forum.
Unless a student is majoring in literature, it’s unlikely.

This reminds me of Woody Allen's movie, "Midnight in Paris" about a discontent author who writes about the previous nostalgic generation, when he thought life was better. Something happens when he's strolling through Paris at midnight. An old 1920's vehicle comes along with people partying, inviting him to come along. It's doorway back in time where he meets famous people, his idols, like Hemingway and others. He finds out that these folks also speak of this similar dissatisfaction and discontentment of their time and that the previous generation was better. This time travel keeps jumping back and he meets other famous people who reminisce of older, better times.I just can't stand it any longer. I'm tired of seeing mediocrity praised and rewarded and treated like it's just as good as what came before when it isn't.
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that western civilization is in decline. In many ways, it mirrors Rome's decline. It doesn't produce anything of value anymore.
Just look at what passes for entertainment these days. Super hero nonsense where everything is treated as a big joke. Even shows and movies that aren't based on comic books use the same writing style. So you end up with nothing being taken seriously. Nothing matters. It's almost nihilistic in it's presentation.
I tried watching the Fallout tv show earlier. I got through two episodes before I turned it off out of rage. I hate western culture today. It's so empty and utterly worthless. It has nothing to say, and it lives on through nostalgia.
I thought this clip was relevant for this topic:
How much worse could it possibly become? Zombie apocalypse worse? A.I robot worse? Alien invasion worse? Wrath from heaven worse? David Duchovny worse?Asimov was an atheist. I watched the interview after you posted it on Saturday. It was interesting, but the takeaway is futility.
Mankind left to itself won’t fix the problem. Things will grow worse, not better.
How much worse could it possibly become? Zombie apocalypse worse? A.I robot worse? Alien invasion worse? Wrath from heaven worse? David Duchovny worse?
This is correct but it do need a bit more expounding .Jesus of Nazareth is the evidence that God wants everyone.
In this life and in this world THE PROBLEM will not be fixedHow interested would you be in fixing the problem if you had the power and authority to do so?
I will tell us all what is destroying western civ , as it is the rest o this planet .Cultural diversity is destroying Western civ. Are college students still required to read Shakespeare? Probably not.
If it does, I hope I'm not around for what comes next. That’s very likely to happen again, and on a much larger scale than it did before.
Nevertheless, the assurance of scripture is that there will be some left alive when the Messiah returns.
If it does, I hope I'm not around for what comes next.
OH i hear you my friend . I Do understand in part why it is as to why you would even ask such a question and questions .How much worse could it possibly become? Zombie apocalypse worse? A.I robot worse? Alien invasion worse? Wrath from heaven worse? David Duchovny worse?
Let's suppose that doesn't happen. Then humanity is left with the prospect of dehydration, starvation, violence, and radiation sickness. The restoration, the Messiah’s perfect and unending government, comes next. I hope you are around for that.

Besides, I don't think using nuclear weapons automatically triggers the return of Jesus. We dropped two on Japan and the world kept right on going.
What is the key sign .That would be the end of the world scenario.
You’re right. It isn’t the trigger.
Christianity isn't synonymous with the Bible (some here will disagree). Thomas Jefferson famously took scissors to his Bible and cut out all the miracles. He gets called a Deist too.The bible itself. I just can't bring myself to believe in many of the stories the require a belief in the supernatural.
Look at how many Nuclear Bombs that has been dropped so far in the world.Let's suppose that doesn't happen. Then humanity is left with the prospect of dehydration, starvation, violence, and radiation sickness.

Yeah. It seems like several of thee founding fathers of America were deists.Christianity isn't synonymous with the Bible (some here will disagree). Thomas Jefferson famously took scissors to his Bible and cut out all the miracles. He gets called a Deist too.
I'd be cool with that. But I don't think the Christians would ever agree. As nearly as I can figure, a Deist who subscribes to the teachings of Christ, is just a Christian by another name.
