Is that the same as what is meant by Halal with muslims?“Kosher” methods of meat slaughter and preparation still apply in many countries.

It's a partly a diet book that made me cry in my teens or early 20s. A man almost dies from chron's disease and cures himself by going back to Biblical food laws in Leviticus.I'm not familiar with it Fluff fluff
The idea of trichinoses (parasite) in pig flesh or the poisons filtered by shell fish (which is their role to help keep the waters clean) is enough for me to keep my distance. We don't believe pork is forbidden, but we can't bring ourselves to eat it.
Except bacon. I like making char siu from time to time but I'll probably use beef next time, because it makes everyone uncomfortable.
We definitely do not have ham on Easter, because Jesus was Jewish and it doesn't logically make sense. But we also don't do many traditional eggs and bunnies either, because that has nothing to do with the Bible at all. We don't judge other people who do. We just don't want to participate.
Some animals seem to have been declared unclean for symbolic reasons. In my opinion many others were unclean for heath reasons that the ancient Israelites would have been ignorant about. For example swine are filthy animals full of parasites. If you don't cook it properly it will make you sick.
Now they have been declared clean with everything else the Lord has made clean.
Recently, I was cleaning off some broccoli leaves from the garden and about had a panic attack over some eggs under the leaves from some insect, and I felt God say (in a light, humorous way), "You worry over this, but not about what's in what you usually eat." (what's in processed food) and the thought of it made me cringe so much I am still afraid to look into it.The idea of trichinoses (parasite) in pig flesh or the poisons filtered by shell fish (which is their role to help keep the waters clean) is enough for me to keep my distance.
Thank for the question. At one time, chickens etc. were killed by wringing their necks (but perhaps that is breaking their necks, rather than strangulation). Might be an interesting research project.I might ask why the most necessary things would include both things strangled, and blood
Acts 15:20 But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.
1Sam 14:32 And the people flew upon the spoil, and took sheep, and oxen, and calves, and slew them on the ground: and the people did eat them with the blood.
The latter you can show with blood, but I have yet to find an example of things strangled, unless I am missing it

Blessings.
Pretty much, although I am not familiar with all Halal practices...I just know that they are as fastidious as Orthodox Jews when it comes to food preparation. Is that the same as what is meant by Halal with muslims?
Much to my horror as a child, my GramPa use to just chop off their heads and let them run till they dropped, then he would hang them by their legs to drain them.Thank for the question. Swine, though it divides the hoof and is cloven-footed, yet it does not chew the cud…In the OT declares pork unclean,
and I once puzzled over this 'uncleanness'—
until I learned how modern swine
are pumped full of hormones and aphrodisiac drugs.
Now I wonder: when we eat such flesh,
does it stir unnatural lust within us?
Perhaps this is the very defilement
God warned against in His wisdom.
How,do,you think about it?

Respect for the animals blood was because it represented their life....and why it was used in sacrifice in Israel. It is against his law to consume blood.
Electronically stunned, slaughtered or shot?I recall the first time I saw one killed, that was never easy to forget
I was responding to thisElectronically stunned, slaughtered or shot?
A rather ghastly sight for a child to witness though it does teach them where their food comes from something kids today rarely appreciate.I was responding to this

The way of men is to use the measure of intellectualisation and taste to qualify anything as acceptable.Swine, though it divides the hoof and is cloven-footed, yet it does not chew the cud…
The word “swine” comes from the Hebrew chaziyr, meaning “to enclose”, which reflects the pig’s self-centered and greedy nature, often expressed in its constant grunting and feeding.
2386. חֲזִיר chăzîyr, khaz-eer´; from an unused root prob. mean. to inclose; a hog (perh. as penned):—boar, swine
Though the pig appears to be cloven-footed, it actually has four toes, making its footing deceptive. This false appearance of stability and surefootedness is a powerful symbol of those who walk according to the flesh. Such people may seem confident and secure in their ways, but in reality, their systems, values, and achievements are temporary and unstable, as Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 4:18, they are part of the “things which are seen,” which are fleeting.
I should add - nothing wrong with roast pork!
Exactly. This mindset is revealed as flawed by those who carefully examine information and pursue truth based on reliable, well established sources. I’m confident that the principles found in the Law of Moses are trustworthy, and they can be clearly supported by internal evidence from within the text itself. I'm certain you would discover such truth upon investigation. The way of men is to use the measure of intellectualisation and taste to qualify anything as acceptable.
If it tastes good, the head in the sand approach easily discounts a cogent angle and taste wins the day.
If it sounds as if someone has done research, it easily passes the threshold of any doubt
Both these measures are questionable to all who have access to trustworthy information and think it through.

Symbolically fish may have been clean while scaleless fish were unclean because of spiritual blindness such as the apostle Paul experienced when meeting Jesus on the road.I missed this one, and Jesus mentioned swine in the context of men
Mat 7:6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.
And in relation to both the same here in Peter, referring even unto that which was washed here
2 Peter 2:22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.
